Originally an Xbox One exclusive title, Cuphead may be coming to the PlayStation 4 after a thumbnail for the game leaked on the PlayStation Store. The thumbnail has since been removed, but not before The Game Awards creator, Geoff Keighley, responded to the leak basically confirming that Cuphead will be coming to PS4.

Cuphead was released in 2017 by indie development team Studio MDHR as an Xbox One exclusive title. The title of "console exclusive" faded away as it was ported to PC and then to the Nintendo Switch. It was believed that Cuphead would never make its way to the PS4 due to the game's close ties with Xbox, but this new series of leaks says otherwise.

It was originally reported by Wario64 on Twitter that a thumbnail for Cuphead had appeared under the "New" section of the PSN Store. While the listing was clearly displayed on the screen, the game's page would not load when selected. Shortly after the listing was discovered, Cuphead's icon was removed from the store leaving a blank space in its place. Before the leak was discovered, Geoff Keighley tweeted that the Summer Games Fest would be presenting an announcement from an indie games studio the following morning. Wario64 quote retweeted this announcement under the image of the leaked Cuphead icon. Keighley responded to the tweet with a GIF of Shaun the Sheep giving a thumbs up, but then quickly deleted said tweet.

Those following this thread considered Keighley's deleted response to be a confirmation of the leak. Keighley then replied to the same tweet again with a GIF captioned "let's take a step back," to which Wario64 responded, "Geoff what you got." Finally, Keighley responded with a video of the Sesame Street gang singing a song about the letter "L". While this exchange is slightly confusing, it could be implied that Geoff took an "L" by confirming the leak before the game's planned announcement.

Regardless of whether or not Keighley played a role in confirming the leak, PS4 owners can look forward to Cuphead coming to the system sometime in the near future. The PSN Store has become notorious for leaking games and game updates ahead of schedule, and Cuphead is just another game that can be added to the list of PSN mishaps. Whether or not the announcement Keighley had mentioned in his own tweet is Cuphead coming to PS4 will be determined at 11 a.m. EST on July 28.
