Tom Holland looks bloody and sad in a new image from the upcoming television series The Crowded Room. Although he's known around the globe for his role as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the rest of Holland's filmography reveals he has favored playing young individuals that find themselves battling against unbelievably difficult circumstances.

Holland will bring that to the screen, as he's set to star in his first series regular role for The Crowded Room. Holland shared a photo of the upcoming series, which was first announced in April 2021. The photo shows Holland's character, Danny Sullivan, with some bruises and a bloodied shirt. The caption reveals that The Crowded Room will debut June 9th on Apple TV+.

What To Expect From The Crowded Room

The Crowded Room follows Danny, who is arrested after his involvement in a New York City shooting. The story, which takes place in 1979, is promoted as being a captivating thriller that's told by way of a collection of interviews conducted by the curious interrogator Rya Goodwin (Amanda Seyfried). In the process, Danny’s life story unfolds and unlocks aspects of the mysterious past that helped turn him into the man that he ultimately becomes.

Along with Holland and Seyfried, who recently won an Emmy for her memorable performance as Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu limited series The Dropout, the upcoming Apple TV+ also stars Shameless alum Emmy Rossum, Sasha Lane, Will Chase, and Lior Raz. Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, Thomas Sadoski, and Zachary Goling make guest appearances.

Consisting of ten episodes, with the first three debuting all at once, followed by weekly releases, The Crowded Room is a continuation of its lead actor's penchant for tricky dramatic roles. A ranking of Holland's movies reveals that, outside of Marvel, he's tended to prefer embodying young men that are trapped in tricky situations. His new show, on which he's an executive producer, is very much a continuation of that.
