Critical Role has exploded into a massive franchise thanks to the team's efforts to create an amazing story through roleplay and well-rounded characters. The two completed campaigns and the currently ongoing third campaign as a party of compelling player characters, each with their own set of powers and abilities.

But as with all fictitious works, some characters are stronger than others, and in this case, that means statistical strength as Dungeons & Dragons characters. Many player characters easily outclass one another, no matter what party they come from, and these 10 characters are among the most powerful of Critical Role's multiple campaigns.

Vax'ildan

Vox Machina's deadly rogue, played by Liam O'Brien, is quick to a fight and possesses a lot of strength and weapons to assassinate anyone he comes across. While Vax has some spells that he can call upon to help him, much of his power comes from his combat skills and his vast array of daggers, each with their own type of damage.

As a rogue, his main goal is to deal high damage fast, making him a great candidate to end fights quickly. His power grew even further following his death and return as a revenant in service to the Raven Queen, which allows him to return to life 24 hours after dying, essentially making him almost immortal.

Caduceus Clay

Critical Role Caduceus

Taliesin Jaffe's second in the Mighty Nein, Caduceus Clay, brought a lot of powerful magic to the second campaign, and was especially useful when going up against some of the best villains in Critical Role.

As a cleric, Caduceus has dozens of spells that he can prepare and call upon in the heat of battle. While many of these spells aren't strictly combat, many of his cantrips and is domain spells make up for this. And though Caduceus may not have as much health as some of the beefier members of the Mighty Nein, such as Fjord, he has enough healing abilities to keep himself and his allies in the fight for longer periods of time, not to mention a really tough armor class to get through.

Fjord

Critical Role Fjord-1

Travis Willingham's warlock/paladin, Fjord, is always ready to get involved in some of the best fights in the series, and more often than not he will be able to come out on top.

Setting aside Fjord's ridiculous amount of health, his spells have caused lots of havoc against the Mighty Nein's enemies. Though he lost his warlock powers for a time upon severing his connection with his patron, Uk'otoa, he soon regained them upon accepting a new patron. As a half-orc, Fjord also gets extra abilities that keep him from getting knocked out longer and help him deal even more damage, making him one of the Nein's toughest members.

Yasha Nydoorin

Critical Role Yasha

When it comes to raging, psychotic attacks, there's no one in the Mighty Nein party that can pull them off better than Ashley Johnson's Yasha Nydoorin.

Thanks to her being a part of the barbarian class, Yasha has multiple feats and abilities that allow her to rage further and deal even more damage on enemies than ever before. Being an aaismar, Yasha also is resistant to necrotic damage. Combined with her high health, this makes Yasha an incredibly dangerous foe, being able to deal out tons of damage quicker and easier than most other player characters seen throughout Critical Role's history.

Scanlan Shorthalt

Bard's aren't generally known for being strong, but with a massive amount of spells at his disposal, Scanlan Shorthalt, played by Sam Riegel, certainly gives the bard class something to think about.

By the time he reaches level 20, Scanlan has built up a huge number of spells and can know 24 of them at once, including two ninth-level spells that have helped him out immensely during Vox Machina's conflict with Vecna. He's been able to use all these spells to wipe out scores of enemies and launch one-man-assaults on buildings and living to tell the tale. He may act like a goofball and a joker, but when the party needs him most, Scanlan will be there with his musical and magic charm to save the day.

Caleb Widogast

Critical Role Caleb-2

Despite his low health, Caleb Widogast, portrayed by Liam O'Brien, has one of the most overpowered character builds in all of Critical Role, making him one of the most powerful members of the Mighty Nein.

Yes, his low health does mean he goes down easy in a fight, but he can deal out an absurd amount of spell damage and fire damage before that happens. He's easily one of the Mighty Nein's strongest spell caster, with dozens of spells available for him to equip. His trauma haunts him throughout the campaign, which may cause him to hold back a little. But when his full power is unleashed, there's no stopping this powerful wizard from burning everything to ashes.

Pike Trickfoot

Obviously one of the best player characters in the series, Pike Trickfoot, played by Ashley Johnson, is powered by the Everlight, gaining her vast power at her fingertips to assist Vox Machina with.

Thanks to the Everlight, Pike is blessed with divine energy, which made her the perfect warrior to battle against undead enemies such as those summoned by the Briarwoods. She's also responsible for many of the resurrections that need to be performed on her friends during the Vox Machina campaign. Pike has helped hold together the group multiple times, and without her healing abilities and magical prowess, they all would've died permanently long ago.

Grog Strongjaw

Critical Role Grog

He may not be the smartest member of Vox Machina, but Grog Strongjaw, played by Travis Willingham, is easily the strongest when it comes to raw strength.

Grog is simply a rampaging tank of death and destruction. With almost 300 hit points, he can take more hits than any other member of Vox Machina, and dish more damage back out at his attackers. Many of his attacks can be increased to insane levels with abilities like rage, and his inhuman levels of strength have helped the party out on more than one occasion. The only thing holding this behemoth back is his lack of intelligence. Luckily for him, he doesn't need it as long as he has plenty of enemies to murder.

Jester Lavorre

Critical Role Jester-1

Jester Lavorre, played by Laura Bailey, may seem innocent and carefree, but she is actually one of the heaviest hitters on the Mighty Nein.

When push comes to shove, Jester can unleash a barrage of powerful spells like Fire Storm and Control Weather to vanquish her foes, or simply use Mass Heal to help her friends recover for the next fight. In fact, Jester's magic and abilities were key to her team's victory in the Vox Machina vs Mighty Nein one-shot. Combined with her spiritual weapon and her never ending eagerness, Jester is one of Campaign 2's most memorable and powerful characters.

Keyleth

Keyleth, a red haired druid holds a ball of lightning above her as her eyes glow using her powers in Legend of Vox Machina

Easily outclassing everyone in Critical Role is Keyleth, the half-elf druid member of Vox Machine played by Marisha Ray. Upon a closer look, her powers are jaw-dropping. She has access to more spells than anyone else, and many of them, such as Tsunami, are simply godlike in nature.

Her powers only got better as she grew more confident and completed her aramenté. As she proves time and time again over the course of Vox Machina's adventures, she can turn the tide of a battle in an instant and even kill or incapacitate mighty foes such as Raishan and Sylas Briarwood. Many Critical Role fans have come to the conclusion that Keyleth is the most powerful of Vox Machina and perhaps the entire series.
