But this February that wait will finally be over, with Dark Horse delivering the latest adventures of Vox Machina, the heroes of Critical Role's first campaign... before they became household names. The popular webseries has spread with success, most recently including a Vox Machina animated series. Beginning with a group of voice actors playing Dungeons & Dragons, their existing characters soon won the affection of fans. So strongly, it turned out, that audiences were eager to learn the history of the individual characters, and what events had forged them into a single party. Thanks to an alliance with Dark Horse Comics, the first Vox Machina Origins series showed exactly that, uniting the heroes for the first time. The second series sent them to rescue a friend and kept the momentum rolling -- and now things are about to get a lot more complicated. The third entry in the Vox Machina Origins series reunites the entire creative team, with series creator and host Matthew Mercer co-writing with Jody Houser (Orphan Black, Stranger Things), art by Olivia Samson and MSASSYK (Gotham Academy), and letters by Ariana Maher (Xena).
The official plot description for the next volume confirms that Vox Machina Origins Series III #1 begins with the heroes enjoying some liesure time (as only they can) in Westruun’s lap of luxury. But that costs coin... which has a bad habit of running out. So to keep themselves in the black, they agree to join an underground fighting ring. But before they can bash their way to cash, their attention is snagged by the case of a missing child. Vox Machina Origins Series III #1 is scheduled to arrive on February 10th, 2021.
