Crisis on Infinite Earths just killed at least two different versions of an iconic DC Comics hero - Robin. As the famous sidekick of Batman, Robin had never before appeared in the Arrowverse, and already multiple versions of him have been killed by the Crisis.

A year after it was first confirmed, the sixth annual Arrowverse crossover is finally here. Based on the 1985-1986 comic book miniseries of the same name, Crisis on Infinite Earths features a massive cast of characters pulled from Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow, as well as movies and shows from outside the Arrowverse, like Smallville, Black Lightning, and Birds of Prey. Crisis on Infinite Earths unites nearly every hero in the Arrowverse for a fight to help the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) save the multiverse from his evil counterpart, the Anti-Monitor, who plans to erase all of existence with waves of antimatter than can wipe out entire worlds.

In the span of a few minutes, Crisis on Infinite Earths introduced one of the biggest DC Comics characters still missing from the Arrowverse - and killed two different version of him. In the beginning of the first hour of the crossover, which aired as an episode of Supergirl, four Earths were destroyed, two of which being Earth-9 and Earth-66. Earth-66 is the home of the 1960s Batman series, as indicated by the appearance of an older version of Burt Ward's Robin. Earth-9 is revealed to be the world of DC Universe's Titans when two of its heroes are seen in-costume. One of them is the Jason Todd incarnation of Robin, played by Curran Walters. So, in a matter of minutes, at least two Robins were killed off.

The primary version of Robin, Dick Grayson, also exists in Titans. Played by Brenton Thwaites, Dick Grayson recently became Nightwing in the season 2 finale. Though he didn't appear on-screen in Crisis, it can be assumed that he was killed off-screen by the antimatter wave. Another casualty of the Crisis is Earth-89, which connected Tim Burton's 1989 Batman movie to the Arrowverse with a cameo from Robert Wuhl's Alexander Knox. If the 1995 sequel, Batman Forever, is considered to be in-canon with Batman, then that would mean that Chris O'Donnell's Dick Grayson is the fourth Robin to die in the Crisis.

Either way, more than one version of Batman's legendary sidekick was killed off in Crisis on Infinite Earths, which is a telling indication of just how big Crisis is for the Arrowverse. The event, which just saw the Green Arrow die in the first chapter, is quickly proving that no one is safe.
