The synopsis for the 'Crisis on Earth-X' Arrowverse crossover, Part 1, has arrived, teasing the arrival of Citizen Cold as trouble hits Barry and Iris' wedding. After last year's annual crossover saw the heroes of the Arrowverse fend off an alien invasion, it was hard to imagine where things would go next. Luckily, the fantastical nature of the shows allows for plenty of wild scenarios. Later this month, the various series will come together for both love and conflict as Barry and Iris finally tie the knot - but not without some complications.

The heroes of the Arrowverse have never been able to maintain a stable relationship for long, but Barry and Iris are giving it a shot. However, before they can, their ceremony will be interrupted and the heroes will end up on Earth-X, facing a new threat. Based in the world of the upcoming animated series Freedom Fighters: The Ray, Earth-X is a world where the Nazis won WWII. More than that, but there's an evil Flash and a Nazi Supergirl and Arrow. Luckily, it has some heroes of its own who will be showing up to help.

The CW has released the synopsis for 'Crisis on Earth-X, Part 1,' which will kick things off on Supergirl. Presumably, Kara and Alex Danvers will make their way to Earth-One for Barry and Iris' wedding in the episode, before the trouble begins. For more on that, read the synopsis below:

Barry (guest star Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (guest star Candice Patton) wedding brings the gang together, but things go awry when villains from Earth-X attack the ceremony. All of the superheroes band together with help from their super friends like Citizen Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller), The Ray (guest star Russell Tovey), Felicity Smoak (guest star Emily Bett Rickards), Iris West and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) to take on their most formidable villains yet. Earth’s mightiest heroes – Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz) – lead their teams into battle to save the world.

It looks like the crossover will dive right into the wedding before chaos erupts thanks to some villains. It remains to be seen who exactly those trouble-making baddies are, but it could be a collection of already established Arrowverse rogues. Either that, or the villains of Earth-X may find a way to find their way onto Earth-1. Adding to that theory is the fact that both The Ray, the hero of Earth-X, and Citizen Cold are set to appear in these episodes.

In the comics, Citizen Cold is the heroic version of Leonard Snart from the Flashpoint timeline. Captain Cold is getting a new costume for the crossover, though actor Wentworth Miller will be leaving the Arrowverse for good thereafter. It seems that this heroic take on the character will serve as Miller's final bow in the small screen superhero universe.

Following SupergirlArrow will temporarily jump to a new time and bring the second half of the episode, before The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow round things out the next day. Hopefully, Barry and Iris will also get a chance to finish their ceremony and attempt to live happily ever after.
