The Crew focuses on a fictional NASCAR racing team, so who are the main players and how do you know them? Set in Charlotte, the Netflix comedy show stars Kevin James - a veteran of both mainstream television and movies. The storyline mostly features workplace humor and doesn't include much actual racing.
In The Crew, a Stanford-educated woman named Catherine Spencer replaces her father as the CEO of Bobby Spencer Racing. Much to the surprise of crew chief Kevin Gibson (James), she implements morning meetings and seemingly disrupts the loose atmosphere. As the series progresses, Catherine's decisions threaten the future of the company's top driver, Jake Martin, resulting in some internal conflict at Bobby Spencer Racing.
Netflix audiences will undoubtedly recognize James in The Crew, however, the actress who portrays Catherine is relative unknown but arguably delivers a star-making performance. Kevin James stars as Kevin Gibson, the NASCAR crew chief for Bobby Spencer Racing. He attempts to maintain harmony amongst his colleagues but loses sight of his personal happiness in the process. James headlined the TV series The King of Queens as Doug Heffernan for years and also plays the titular character in the Paul Blart movie franchise.
Jillian Mueller As Catherine Spencer
Jillian Mueller co-stars as Catherine, a Stanford-educated woman and the new crew boss with a history in Silicon Valley. She wants to be viewed as a fun person but awkwardly tries to fit in with her employees. Mueller portrayed Leah Simes in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 18 and Emily in The Last O.G. season 1. She made her movie debut as Chaz in the 2019 film Porno.
Freddie Stroma As Jake Martin
Freddie Stroma portrays Jake Martin, the main driver for Bobby Spencer Racing who isn't known for his intelligence. Jake has all the skills to keep his job but feels threatened by the arrival of a younger female racer. Stroma is best known as Cormac McLaggen from the Harry Potter movie franchise and Luke in Pitch Perfect. He recently appeared as Prince Friedrich in Bridgerton season 1.
Gary Anthony Williams As Chuck Stubbs
Gary Anthony Williams appears as Chuck Stubbs, the mechanic for Bobby Spencer Racing. He's a no-nonsense type of individual who speaks more with his actions than his words. Williams portrayed Tarik in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Bebop in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
Dan Ahdoot As Amir Lajani
Dan Ahdoot portrays Amir Lajani, the main engineer for Bobby Spencer Racing. He constantly deals with anxiety and makes awkward comments in social settings. Ahdoot portrayed Amir Yaghoob in Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ and currently appears as Anoush in Cobra Kai.
Sarah Stiles As Beth Paige
Sarah Stiles portrays Beth Paige, the office manager for Bobby Spencer Racing. She's mostly content with her life but feels drawn to New York City when her boyfriend lands a new job. Beth is especially close with Kevin but seems to view him only as a friend. Stiles portrayed Toni Luddy in I'm Dying Up Here and Gladys in the Get Shorty TV series on Epix. She recently appeared as Bonnie Barella in Billions.
Paris Berelc As Jessie De La Cruz
Paris Berelc appears as Jessie De La Cruz, an up-and-coming driver who is initially picked as Jake's replacement. She knows how to handle the media but needs to work on her driving skills. Berelc portrayed Alexa Mendoza in Alexa & Katie and Megan in Hubie Halloween.
Mather Zickel As Frank
