A new Creepshow poster arrives to celebrate the season 2 finale of the Shudder show. EC comics inspired George Romero and Stephen King to collaborate on the legendary 1982 anthology horror film Creepshow. In 1987, the frightfest received a sequel in Creepshow 2.

The 1980s are of course remembered as a strong era for horror anthology movies and shows in general, thanks to titles like Creepshow, Tales From the Crypt, the rebooted Twilight Zone and others. Nowadays with horror as big as ever and anthologies once again becoming popular, it made all the sense in the world to bring back Creepshow. And bring it back is exactly what Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero did. After a successful first season on Shudder in 2019, Creepshow survived COVID delays and returned for a second season in 2021.

Now the second season of Creepshow is itself set to wrap up, with a third season already ordered by Shudder. In honor of the just released season 2 finale, ComicBook.com shared a new poster designed by Nicotero together with artist Sanjulián. See the creepy art in the space below:

Creepshow Season 2 Finale Poster Shudder

Hardcore horror and fantasy fans well know the name Sanjulián as the artist has been responsible for some great illustrations over the years, including cover art for everything from the legendary Heavy Metal comic book series to Conan novels to Clive Barker’s The Great and Secret Show. Given his background in genre-based art, Sanjulián was clearly a strong choice to create key art for the Creepshow season 2 finale. That art indeed showcases many of the creepy characters and objects featured during the course of season 2, including the classic Gill-Man from Creature From the Black Lagoon, the Necronomicon from the Evil Dead movies (which figured into a funny episode starring Ted Raimi that imagined a 1980s PBS station becoming possessed by demons) and of course the Creep himself.

Directed by series creator Nicotero and starring Justin Long, the season finale “Night of the Living Late Show” dropped on Shudder on April 28, 2021. Though season 2 of Creepshow has now wrapped up, thankfully the series will continue to live on, with Creepshow season 3 arriving as early as later in 2021. Nicotero promises the third season of Creepshow will feature some of the show’s “most ambitious stories yet.” This is obviously great news for horror fans who love their scares delivered anthology-style, with a strong dose of the EC comics' sense of justice (and humor) that originally inspired Romero and King, and later helped bring Creepshow back from the dead for the age of streaming.
