An animated Creepshow special is headed to Shudder ahead of Halloween, with Joey King and Kiefer Sutherland both on board to voice characters. October is an important month for AMC's horror streaming service, with consumers obsessed with all things scary during the month of Halloween. An animated special starring two big—albeit very different—names from Hollywood will definitely bring more eyes to Shudder at a time where many are already stuck inside due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an announcement on Thursday, Shudder revealed The Creepshow Halloween Special, which will premiere exclusively on the streaming service on October 26. The special will be fully animated and directed by Greg Nicotero, who serves as the showrunner for Creepshow. The special will be divided into two distinct stories.

One story will be based on "Survivor Type," a Stephen King short story. Kiefer Sutherland will star as a man who has to survive by himself on a desert island. The other story will be based on "Twittering from the Circus of the Dead," originally written by Joe Hill. Joey King will voice a teenager whose family visits "the gravest show on earth," per the release.

Creepshow is facing the same production delays every series is facing due COVID-19. While season 2 is still in production and season 3 is in development, an animated special appears to be the perfect way to bridge the gap between seasons and keep fans on their toes.
