Creed III hinted at Amara Creed's future storyline in the series, and she already has a great real-life inspiration for Creed IV. Amara Creed is the daughter of the series' main character Adonis Creed, and while she hasn't had a huge role in prior films, Amara did get a slightly larger role in Creed III. It seems like she'll be getting even more of a spotlight in Creed IV, and the character's arc could mirror that of a true story.

Born in Creed II, Amara is the daughter of Adonis Creed and Bianca Taylor. Bianca's hearing loss has been present since the original Creed, but when Amara was born, the couple found out that their daughter would be fully deaf. This hasn't hindered Amara, who has grown up into a fierce young girl in the several years since Creed II. Creed III reveals that Amara wants to be a fighter, much like her father, with Adonis deciding to train Amara behind Bianca's back. This arc has planted the seeds of Amara's future in the Creed franchise, with her possibly taking on an even bigger role in Creed IV.

How Real-Life Deaf Boxer Mario D'Agata Can Influence Amara's Creed 4 Story

It seems as if Amara will become a full-fledged professional fighter in future Creed movies, with this storyline potentially being expanded on in Creed IV. A deaf boxer would be a first for the Rocky franchise, meaning that Amara's storyline could be influenced by the real-life story of Mario D'Agata. D'Agata was an Italian professional boxer who got into the sport as a way to fend off taunting from bullies. D'Agata quickly found great success, defeating Robert Cohen in 1956 to become the world's first and only deaf world champion. D'Agata continued fighting until 1962, when he announced his retirement, with him living until 2009.

Amara's story already has several parallels with Mario D'Agata's, with her getting into fights due to her being bullied in Creed III. Amara could easily take some more inspiration from Mario D'Agata, and this wouldn't be something new for the franchise. Many Rocky fighters have been inspired by real-life boxers, including Rocky Balboa himself. Rocky is based on boxers Chuck Wepner and Rocky Marciano, so it only makes sense for Amara to be influenced by real-world fighters as well.

Professional Boxing's History Of Deaf Fighters Explained

While Mario D'Agata may be the most famous deaf boxer, he is far from the only one. One of the earliest hearing-impaired boxers was James Burke, who won the English heavyweight title in 1833, holding it until 1839. Another more modern deaf boxer is Julian "Quiet Storm" Smith, an American fighter that is still active today.

Outside of boxing, there are still plenty of deaf fighters who participate in combat sports. One of the most famous ones is Matt Hammill, a wrestler and UFC fighter who was the subject of a 2010 movie called The Hammer. Thomas "Juggernaut" Paul is a UFC and MMA fighter who also happens to be deaf. While there still aren't tons of hearing-impaired fighters today, it's good to see that there are more opportunities available. Hopefully, Amara's story in Creed III and Creed IV can bring more awareness to these individuals, inspiring more people to get into the sport.
