The first look at Jonathan Majors' Creed 3 villain has officially been revealed in new posters for the highly anticipated sequel. Sylvester Stallone's iconic boxing movie franchise returned in 2015 with a new focus, as director Ryan Coogler put the son of Apollo Creed in the lead role of the first Rocky spinoff. Michael B. Jordan has starred as Adonis Creed for two movies to this point for MGM, which have both been critically well-received and have made nearly $400 million worldwide combined. Michael B. Jordan returns to star in Creed 3, but the sequel also sees the lead actor step behind the camera to make his directorial debut.

Progress on Creed 3 has continued to be made over the last few years with production finally beginning in 2021. The sequel will be without Sylvester Stallone's Rocky, but Tessa Thompson's Bianca is returning. The biggest new addition to Creed 3's cast is Jonathan Majors, who joined the sequel to play the mysterious villain. Due to Majors' memorable performances and rising star power (in part due to playing Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe), excitement has been very high to see him and Jordan square off in the sequel. Set photos during filming gave the internet a glimpse of his ripped physique.

Now, the official marketing campaign for the sequel has begun as the first Creed 3 posters were released by MGM. One of the posters highlights Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed, but the other gives the first official look at Jonathan Majors' villain. The posters share a tagline, "You can't run from your past," indicating that there might be a history between Adonis and Jonathan Majors' Creed 3 villain. Check out the posters below:

Everything We Know About Jonathan Majors' Creed 3 Villain

Throughout the development, details about who is Creed 3's villain and Jonathan Majors' character have been kept under wraps. The actor has recently confirmed that his character's name is Damian, which is supported by these posters. It appears that instead of wearing his last name on his boxing shorts, he has put his abbreviated name, "Dame." This could be a sign that there is more to Damian's past that includes connections to established Rocky lore. There are countless theories that Jonathan Majors' villain in Creed 3 is related to past villains or other characters, which could still be the case.

With only a first name and an official look at his character, Jonathan Majors' Creed 3 villain is also confirmed to have a traumatic backstory. The details of what Damian has endured are still not known and will likely remain a mystery for a while longer. With Creed 3's release date moving to early 2023 instead of this fall, the wait to learn more about Jonathan Majors' character continues to grow. Hopefully the first Creed 3 trailer will come soon now that the posters have been released and provide more details on his role and relationship with Michael B. Jordan's Adonis.
