In a new Instagram post, Michael B. Jordan trains for Creed 3 and shows off his ripped arms. 2015's Creed tells the story of Apollo Creed's son, Adonis (Jordan), and the new mentor he finds in famed boxer Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone). Proving a big hit with audiences and critics, Jordan returned for Creed II in 2018 and it was announced shortly thereafter that Creed III was in development with a release date slated for the end of 2022.

The third film in the franchise will see Jordan make his directorial debut while also returning to his role as Adonis. Creed III will also see the return of characters played by Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad but, notably, Stallone will not be returning as Rocky. Jonathan Majors, who many fans will know from Lovecraft Country and Netflix's hit western The Harder They Fall, has also been confirmed to be joining the cast as Adonis' main nemesis in the ring.

In a new Instagram video from celebrity trainer Corey Calliet, Jordan can be seen doing a series of arm exercises and showing off just how jacked he's getting in preparation for Creed III. The post is captioned, "Director by day building a body at night! In order to achieve the great reward a certain amount of consistency must be attained…" Check out the video from Calliet's Instagram below:

Over the clips of Jordan pushing his body to the limit with weight training, Calliet includes Denzel Washington's speech from the NAACP Awards where he talks about the importance of commitment, consistency and never giving up in the face of hardship, which really captures the main themes of the Creed films. This is likely a nod to Jordan's previous comments about how much Washington helped him prepare for his upcoming directorial duties. Jordan gives fans a first good look at the physique he'll be sporting for the film and, frankly, it looks like he can take on just about anybody. It's likely that, as his supposed on-screen nemesis, Majors will be taking a similar approach to his training in order to look equally ripped and make things a more fair fight.

As he's proven with the first two Creed films and other projects, like Black Panther and Without Remorse, Jordan fully commits to his roles and delivers truly memorable performances. Although Stallone's Rocky won't be in Creed III, it feels very much like Creed can stand on its own now, with audiences having now fully embraced the new character of Adonis "Donnie" Creed. While Jordan is a proven talent in front of the camera, it will be interesting to see how he fares in the director's chair and what new ideas he'll bring to the table. Creed III is currently scheduled for release on November 23, 2022.
