Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Creed 3!

Jonathan Majors' Damian Anderson is the main villain of Creed 3, but the movie sets up a possible future return for the character. The third film in the Creed franchise primarily focuses on the return of Dame to Adonis Creed's (Michael B. Jordan) life. The former friends during their teenage years are reunited after Damian is released from prison and wants a shot to get the boxing career he feels Adonis cost him. Creed 3's ending pits Adonis and Damian against each other in the ring for an emotional fight that concludes with Michael B. Jordan's character defeating Jonathan Majors' villain.

Being a villain in the Rocky or Creed movies is not the death sentence that it typically is in other major franchises. The sports movies have a tendency to bring back former antagonists in various capacities. This is something the Creed sequels have not ignored, as Rocky IV's Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren) returned in Creed 2 and Adonis finally got a rematch with Ricky Conlan in Creed 3. While Damian is defeated in the final Creed 3 fight, the movie's story and Majors' performance helped make the character a standout addition to the franchise that some could want to see more of again in the future.

Creed 3’s Ending Teases Damian & Adonis Reuniting Again

What seems to be a clear tease of Damian and Adonis reuniting happens in Creed 3's ending. After their epic fight concludes, Adonis goes to talk to Damian in the locker room. The scene is important for how it gives both men a new perspective on their past and a shared forgiveness for the anger they felt toward each other. But, the Creed 3 ending scene also includes the rather noticeable line from Adonis where he says, "You know where to find me if you need me." The line directed at Damian directly teases a future where Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan's characters will reunite.

Including this line from Adonis appears to be a sign that Creed 3 is not the last time that audiences will see Damian. The movie could have worked without this moment and still given both men closure after the fight. Instead, Creed 3 decided to leave the door open for Damian's return. There are currently no confirmed plans for Jonathan Majors to play the antagonist again, but he and Michael B. Jordan want to continue working together. This only strengthens the likelihood that Damian will return after Creed 3's ending.

Damian Could Return In Creed 4 Or A Spinoff

Jonathan Majors in Creed 3

The most likely place for Jonathan Majors' Dame to return is either Creed 4 or a spinoff focused on the character. Michael B. Jordan has already indicated that Creed 4 is going to happen, so that is the best landing spot for Damian. The next installment of the franchise could have Adonis and Damian reunite as friends, allowing Jonathan Majors to shed the antagonistic side of the character. He could even become the main fighter if Adonis does retire. Since there are also hopes to expand the franchise after Creed 3, a Damian spinoff could be where he returns, with Adonis being featured in a supporting role or cameo.
