Social media platforms like Snapchat are all about staying connected with people. Millions of users worldwide access the social media platform of their choice daily and express their sentiments and opinions about the developments in the world. While other platforms either rely on text or images/videos to engage users, Snapchat does it with the help of disappearing messages and Snaps. Additionally, the platform also enables users to conduct a poll to collect the opinion of other people in their community.

Snapchat provides users with multiple tools to edit their Snaps. For instance, users can scribble over their Snaps, add stickers, add music tracks and embed YouTube video links. As other social media and messaging platforms like Instagram and Telegram have a poll-creation feature, Snapchat has one too. Users can add a poll in a Snap, just like adding an emoji or text. It allows users to take the opinion of their friends and can be quickly sent via a still or video Snap.

The Snapchat poll feature could be helpful in multiple scenarios. For example, a user could be in an Apple Store, confused between the AirPods Pro and the AirPods 3 or between the MacBook Air M1 and the MacBook Pro. Someone might have dressed up for an occasion but isn't sure about their outfit — in similar and many other situations, users can create and post a poll on Snapchat, giving the viewers of the survey two options to respond. Once users have received all the required responses, they can share the poll results.

Create A Snapchat Poll From The Stickers Menu

To create a poll on Snapchat, open the application and click a Snap using the Snapchat camera by clicking on the circular shutter button at the center of the display. Then, in the next screen with all the editing options, tap on the 'Sticker' icon at the top right corner and select 'Poll' from the options highlighted in yellow. A basic poll layout will appear on the screen, along with a text field and two emojis. Next, enter a question/topic in the text field and change the emoji accordingly (by default, they are set to thumbs up and thumbs down). Once done, position the poll on Snap, tap 'Send To' at the bottom right corner, and add to 'My Story.'

After sharing a poll with their friends, users might be excited to view the results. To view the Snap poll results, tap on the avatar icon (after sharing a Private Story, it reflects the story) at the top left corner of the home screen and tap on the story to preview it. Here, select the three-dot menu given at the top right corner and tap on the poll's name at the bottom. This section will showcase all the responses and the cumulative results of the survey. Then, if users want, they can share these results by tapping on the 'Send Results' button, clicking another Snap, and sharing it with their friends as a Private Story. The steps mentioned here work on both Android and iOS versions of Snapchat.
