So it is no surprise that crafting also serves as one of the game’s core features. It allows players to craft things like potions, poisons, and scrolls. All of which can be useful on their journey. It is a very helpful skill to have, especially if the party doesn’t have to gold to acquire certain items by shopping. This is especially true for magic items like spell scrolls, enchanted armor, and enchanted weapons. So below is a quick guide explaining how to craft these magical items.

How to Craft Magic Items in Solasta: Crown of the Magister

Like potions and poisons, the crafting of scrolls and enchanted gear requires certain toolkits and certain character proficiencies in order to become available. In the case of magic scrolls, a character needs to be able to use the aptly named “scroll kit”. For enchanted weapons and armor, a character will need to obtain and use a “manacalon rosary”. These can be obtained either as part of the starting kit for certain classes or by being bought from certain a merchant NPC.

Players should also make sure that their character has access to the Arcana skill before they try to craft anything. Affected by the character’s intelligence stat, this skill is a must before the player can craft any magical item. The feat called “Master Enchanter” can also be useful for the character to have since it drastically reduces the amount of time to craft an item and increases the character’s crafting proficiency in enchanting.

But having the tools and skills to use the crafting kits is only the beginning. The main thing players need to focus on is getting the recipes and materials needed to craft specific magical items. The ingredients and manual required can vary depending on the desired item, but a lot of them can found while exploring or bought from merchant NPCs. But of all items and ingredients that can be found, players should keep an eye out for “primed” items while they travel, as these are the base items needed in virtually every enchanting recipe.

It should be noted that certain factions, such as the Arcaneum and the Tower of Knowledge, are more likely to have vendors that specialize in selling primed weapons and manuals respectively. So players may have to cozy up to certain factions before they can craft whatever they want.

But how to actually craft things? Assuming the character has the materials and knowledge required, all players have to do is navigate to the crafting menu while outside of combat and select the desired item. This will initiate the crafting process, which can take several hours to complete and can potentially result in a botched crafting attempt that devours all ingredients involved without giving the player an item. The crafting process itself is dependent on factors like the crafting difficulty, its respective ability check, and certain modifiers. A character will have to pass several crafting checks over a long period of time before a finished item is presented. But these can all be accomplished fairly quickly if the party is traveling across the map.
