As players increase their Friendship Level with Ursula in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they will eventually be given the quest "Lair Sweet Lair," during which participants are tasked with crafting Purple Pigment. This Purple Pigment is not a direct quest item but serves as one of the refined materials required for crafting the Magical Scroll and Ink Kit for Ursula. The Sea Witch wishes to form new "contracts" with the Villagers of the Valley but cannot do so without the proper equipment and parchment. Therefore, Dreamers must know how to get Purple Pigment if they wish to progress Ursula's storyline in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

After finding three Paper sheets in the Village and delivering them to Ursula in Disney Dreamlight Valley, she will hint at how players can craft the Purple Pigment for her writing materials. According to her in-game dialogue, players must "extract Purple Ink from flowers;" after all, some "pretty things" must be crushed to fulfill her wish. However, the Sea Witch does not specify which Flowers must be collected and crushed to make the ink kit. Fortunately, the name of the corresponding color is in the name of the target Flowers.

Finding the Flower Ingredients to Craft Purple Pigment in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Based on gameplay by YouTuber Cruella, Purple Pigment in Disney Dreamlight Valley is made from Purple Falling Penstemons and Purple Rising Penstemons. These two Flower types sound similar but are exclusive to separate biomes. Purple Falling Penstemons only grow in the Plaza, the biome that sits in the heart of Dreamlight Valley.

On the other hand, Purple Rising Penstemons solely spawn in the Peaceful Meadow, the starting area directly below the Plaza. Players must craft two vials of Purple Pigment, so a total of eight Purple Falling Penstemons and eight Purple Rising Penstemons are required to progress the "Lair Sweet Lair" Friendship Quest for Ursula.

Both the Rising and Falling variations of the Purple Penstemons are not rare, so they should not be too difficult to find. However, bear in mind that players might need help finding them if the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow are too crowded with decorations and structures. Accordingly, removing a few of the large decoration pieces and using the in-game editing Furniture Mode to easily spot the Penstemons will quicken the search. Once participants have found eight of each, they can craft the two Purple Pigments needed for Ursula's Magical Scroll and Ink Kit during the "Lair Sweet Lair" quest of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
