How to Craft Flower Pigment

The first step on the road to obtaining Tins of Flower Pigment is one of patience - the player must play the game long enough to both unlock an NPC named Francesca DuClaw (luckily, this is only on day two) and progress with her far enough to unlock her main feature, which is recycling. As soon as the player can recycle items and material with Francesca, the work begins.

Flower Pigment comes from flowers, as one could imagine given the item name. The player will first need to obtain different types of flowers. This can be done through a couple different methods. The first and most reliable method to obtain flowers is by buying potted flowers from Mr. Kit, the island's local vendor. The second way to get flowers is to find flowering bushes around the island. There are a limited number of these, however, so the first method is the player's best bet for a steady stream of flowers. Once the player has obtained flowers, they need to be placed around the campsite.

Much like the animals at the campsite, flowers have a level of happiness. If there is uncertainty about what makes a specific flower happy, walk up to it and press the action button. A list of what the flower likes and dislikes will pop up in its information, and the player can utilize this information to increase the flower's happiness. This is important because the happier a flower is, the more petals the player receives once the flower is harvested. In turn, more petals mean more Flower Pigment. Now that the flower has been harvested for its petals, return to Francesca, choose the recycling option, and then select which flowers are to be recycled. Once the transaction is finished, the player will receive one Tin of Flower Pigment per flower petal recycled.

How to Use Flower Pigment

Tins of Flower Pigment are essential crafting materials. As the player progresses through the game, more and more recipes will become available to them. These recipes can be unlocked through discovery around the island, as well as through completing requests for the ghosts inhabiting the island. Some of these crafting recipes will require Tins of Flower Pigment. A category of crafting recipes that commonly require Flower Pigment is Decorations. Most of the recipes that use Flower Pigment are for aesthetic purposes and help the player decorate their island to its fullest potential.

Since a good amount of decoration recipes require Tins of Flower Pigments, the player will want to stock up on them using the method outlined in this guide in order to personalize their Cozy Grove and give it a touch of their own personality. Through harvesting flowers and recycling their petals with Francesca, players can obtain Flower Pigment and use it to create the recipes that they desire to bring their island to life.
