Friends star Courteney Cox reveals which one of Monica's various love interests on the show was her favorite. The beloved 90s sitcom, set in New York City, followed six friends through their various personal, professional, and romantic pursuits in their twenties and thirties. Friends launched Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Cox into the spotlight when it first hit the air in 1994, before coming to an end 10 years later.

Last year, fans were delighted when the Friends were finally brought back together for a long-awaited reunion that saw Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Phoebe, Joey, and Monica all return to the various sets that their characters frequented throughout the show before sitting down with James Corden to discuss their experience. On the show, Cox played Monica, Ross' sister, who would ultimately go on to marry Chandler (Perry). The series concluded with Monica and Chandler introducing their new adoptive twins to the rest of the group before they all said their emotional farewells to Monica's apartment, which had become a staple location throughout the show's 10 seasons. Prior to receiving her happy ending, however, viewers saw Monica cycle through a handful of short and long-term relationships, and now Cox is opening up about which of these suitors was her favorite.

While appearing on Hot Ones, Cox was asked a number of retrospective questions regarding her career, which included her time on Friends. She was asked if she had a "favorite or most memorable cameo" by one of Monica's love interests, citing her rather impressive roster which includes the likes of Tom Selleck, George Clooney, Jon Favreau, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Cox responded by saying that Selleck was "the nicest" before joking "and the tallest." Cox also had some kind words for Favreau, calling him "the best director." Check out Cox's full quote below.

Well, Tom Selleck was the nicest, and the tallest. Jon Favreau is the best director, [but] he wasn’t directing then.

Cox then went on to discuss the pressures that came with filming in front of a live studio audience, sharing how every line or joke "had to be the best" and that she believes that was "what made the show so good." Cox's relationship with Selleck's character, Richard, was one of her more serious love interests on the show, at least before her relationship with Chandler. Richard was a friend of Monica's parents, meaning that there was a considerable age gap between the pair, which would end up being the cause of a number of tensions throughout their relationship.

Selleck is often ranked highly among the fan-favorite cameos within Friends, so it's certainly sweet to hear that these sentiments are echoed by Cox. The Scream star previously revealed that she doesn't remember very much from her time on Friends, which is certainly understandable given that the show concluded almost 2 decades ago. Knowing this, it's likely that Selleck had a rather positive impact on Cox's time filming Friends, in order for him to immediately spring to mind in response to the question, which certainly makes the pair's onscreen relationship all the sweeter.
