Jessa Duggar Seewald of Counting On announced in a touching Instagram post that she has given birth to her fourth child. The reality star shared the joyous news with her husband, Ben Seewald, by her side.
Back in February, Jessa and Ben shared some devastating news that they had suffered a miscarriage. Not long after the news, they shared that they would be welcoming their rainbow baby in the summer. TLC fans will recall that the couple has openly spoken about adoption or possibly fostering a child since they wanted to add to their family. Ben and Jessa are parents to three children already. The process may have taken two years to add fourth, but the day has finally arrived where they can say they are a family of six.
Jessa shared an extremely moving photo of her newborn on Instagram that showed her still in the hospital bed with tears streaming down her face. The mother of four captioned the photos, "Baby Seewald #4 has arrived!" Jessa also shared that a video on her YouTube that showed fans an in-depth look at their journey. The couple revealed they had welcomed a baby girl, who they named Fern Elliana Seewald. It looks like they have a little garden of daughters growing since Ivy is bound to be a great older sister.
The former Counting On star shared “Part 1” of her birth story in a video to YouTube. The video documented the days leading up to Fern's birth. The video showed Jessa talking with her three children and asking for name suggestions. The video ended with the two parents walking into the hospital on Sunday, as she noted her contractions were only three minutes apart. "Part 2" showed the actual birth story where praise music helped the mother relax, and Ben rubbed her back. Jessa spent 12 hours in active labor before opting for an epidural.
The sweetest part of the video was when Fern made her debut and got to meet her siblings. In the background, Michelle Duggar's voice could be heard saying she saw Jessa's water break. After Fern's birth, Michelle was the one who got to cut the umbilical cord. With all the drama going on within the Duggar family, it was nice for Counting On fans to have a positive moment shared with them. Momma and baby are doing just fine and now resting comfortably.
