Video game development platform Core is finally leaving its alpha stage and is entering Early Access on the Epic Games Store, as it's now an exclusive for the service. Core is a title that simplifies video game creation, as it allows users to quickly assemble concepts using existing assets.

Core has been in an alpha stage for almost a year, and its potential has already been seen during different events. The Dungeons & Dragons Panel of Legends featured a panel of celebrity guests, like Deborah Ann Woll from True Blood and WWE star Xavier Woods, as they recounted their favorite tabletop RPG experiences. Core was an important part of this event, as the stories were retold using the software, and players could visit the worlds created for each one. Core has games from almost every genre on its service, ranging from MOBAs to deck-building card games, all of which are possible for anyone to make.

The alpha version of Core launched in March 2020, and it's ready to enter Early Access. Developer Manticore Games has announced that Core is now an Epic Games Store exclusive. The platform currently has over twenty-thousand games, with more being added each day. Now that the game has entered Early Access, the developers have plans to add new features to the game, including live events, player housing, a physics-based vehicle system, and an assets marketplace.

It's still early days for Core and it's unclear exactly when it will leave Early Access and become a full-fledged title, but it has a lot of potential for helping fledgling game developers all around the world. One of the most exciting things about Core is its revenue split, which offers 50% to its creators, allowing users to make a profit from their in-game titles. The applications that have already been used with Dungeons & Dragons content show that Core can extend into other creative mediums as well, and it will be interesting to see what future content creators do with the game.
