Love Is Blind has been known for some of the most dramatic, controversial moments in reality TV dating shows. With couples meeting in pods, isolated from seeing one another until they get engaged, the show has provided some of the most interesting stories in reality TV in the last several years. From heartbreak to surprise hookups, Love Is Blind has proven itself to be a contender in the heavyweight romance department, having jump-started the careers of several new stars and paired some incredibly successful couples.

While the many Love Is Blind seasons have provided some of the most interesting connections in recent memory, the drama has proven to be more controversial compared to other reality TV shows. The relationships on Love Is Blind can seem more serious than on other shows like The Bachelor. The amount of time the contestants spend with one another in the pods creates a bond that can be difficult to navigate once they meet face to face, and that tension has built some of the most fascinating conflicts on TV.

6 Love Is Blind Season 1's Diamond Jack & Carlton Morton's Breakup

Throughout Love Is Blind season 1, Diamond Jack was heavily invested in her relationship with Carlton Morton. Diamond, who came to the show to try and find something long-lasting after conventional dating had failed her time and time again, appreciated that Love Is Blind's Carlton was accepting of her life and past without hesitation. The pair got engaged quickly in the pods, and when they first met, they seemed to like each other, but Carlton was hiding his past from his newfound fiancé. He spoke candidly during his Love Is Blind interview segments about how he'd dated men in the past, but his idea of his future included a wife because of societal pressures.

During the vacation phase of the Love Is Blind experience, Diamond and Carlton got combative with one another. Their fighting became more apparent as the trip went on, and Diamond eventually called Calrton out on his behavior. When Carlton came clean about having had relationships with men, Diamond was hurt by Carlton because he'd kept part of himself from her. Carlton couldn't grasp that she wasn't judging him for his sexuality, and while Diamond tried to keep her cool through the argument, she ultimately wound up yelling and throwing her drink at him. The pair split and cut off all contact, but the argument remains explosive.

5 Love Is Blind Season 2's Iyanna Asks If She's Jarette's Second Choice

Love Is Blind season 2, which has been the least successful season of the show, heavily featured Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones. The couple met in the pods and got engaged after Jarette proposed to Mallory Zapata and was rejected. While Iyanna and Jarette seemed to work well as a couple, there were a few roadblocks that came up when they finally met face-to-face. Iyanna was aware that Jarette had a relationship with Mallory in the pods, and though he tried to assure his fiancé that she was the only one for him, Iyanna still had her doubts.

During a particularly intense conversation between the couple, Iyanna asked whether she was Jarette's second choice. Though she was Jarette's second proposal, he tried to reassure her that she was the only one he wanted to be with. The conversation was uncomfortable to watch, but the honesty was refreshing, and even in its drama, remains one of the most shocking moments of Love Is Blind season 2. Iyanna and Jarette made it to the altar but ultimately got divorced in late 2022.

4 Love Is Blind Season 3's Cole Barnett & Zanab Jaffrey's Cuties Drama

Cole Barnett and Zanab Jaffrey were one of the most controversial couples of Love Is Blind season 3 for a plethora of reasons, but their biggest drama revolved around a clementine. Cole, who had a few options while he was in the pods, including Colleen Reed and Zanab, were a couple that thrived on drama. Zanab was looking for something serious, and though he said that was what he was looking for too, Cole was a bit less mature about love than Zanab despite having been married before. The couple upheld very different standards but tried to make their relationship work.

Near the end of their relationship, Cole made some comments that Zanab felt were belittling. She explained during their meeting at the altar, where Zanab rejected Cole, and at the reunion that Cole asking about her eating habits was controlling. Zanab had a difficult time dealing with what she felt was Cole's controlling nature and the way he was judging her looks and pressuring her to eat less. While Cole did not agree with her assessment of his actions, the pair were able to discuss their issues and parted ways. The drama between the exes was one of the most polarizing, controversial situations in Love Is Blind season 3.

During the conversation, Jessica leaned down and let her dog take a sip out of her wine glass, then reaffirmed the behavior by telling Mark, "she loves wine." The behavior was bizarre, and according to an interview Jessica did with Entertainment Weekly, she "doesn't remember doing it." Jessica explained she "must have felt really uncomfortable" at the moment, but it was shocking nonetheless.
