Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim has offered fans their first look at John Constantine on the show. This will serve as the second appearance for Matt Ryan's iteration of the Constantine character in the Arroweverse.
The Ryan-headlined Constantine TV series was canceled after one season by NBC back in 2014, upsetting fans of the character who felt that the show deserved to continue airing for a second season. In 2015, it was confirmed that Constantine would return to TV as part of the Arrowverse. The character then appeared in an Arrow season 4, titled "Haunted". Constantine was introduced as a person from Oliver Queen's past, whose supernatural expertise was needed by Team Arrow in dealing with the resurrection of Sara Lance. It was then announced at New York Comic Con 2017 that Legends of Tomorrow would feature a Constantine appearance during its third season.
Marc Guggenheim has now tweeted out a first look photo that shows Constantine smoking a cigarette next to Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer on the Legends set (see the image below). The Constantine character will appear in the tenth episode of the season, titled "Daddy Darhkest". The inclusion of both Constantine and Darhk makes sense, considering that both characters are deeply associated with dark magic. It has also been revealed that Constantine perform an exorcism at some point during the episode. According to Guggenheim, "Daddy Darhkest" will revisit season Arrow 4 - in particular, the events of the season 4 finale. That suggests that episode will explain how Damien Darhk was able to return in Legends season 2, after being killed by Oliver in Arrow season 4.

It's worth noting that Constantine had a part in setting up Legends of Tomorrow during his guest appearance in "Haunted". Constantine was called in to help with Sara, who Laurel had resurrected with the Lazarus Pit. One of the unfortunate side-effects was that Sara was brought back without her soul. Constantine had to perform a ritual to return Sara's soul to her body. It was Constantine's actions that made it possible for Sara to join the crew of the Waverider.
Fans of the character will also be able to catch him in the new Constantine animated series, which will air on the CW Seed sometime in 2018.
Legends of Tomorrow continues Tuesday, November 7 with "Return of the Mack" on The CW.
