A new image from The Conners season 4 offers the first look at the wedding of Dan and Louise. Premiering on ABC in 2018, The Conners is a spinoff of Roseanne. It follows the titular family following the death of its matriarch, Roseanne Conner, as the working-class clan attempt to move on from the loss in the fictional Lanford, Illinois. Almost all of Roseanne‘s original cast have reprised their roles for the spinoff.
In the case of Dan Conner (John Goodman), the death of his wife Roseanne hit particularly hard. This is reflected in the introduction of Louise Goldufski (Katey Sagal). Making her debut in The Conners during season 1, Louise was friends with Dan Conner during high school, and the two were in the same class. Though she reveals her feelings for Dan fairly early on, he declines to explore the possibility of a romantic relationship due to the fact that he’s still in love with Roseanne. Viewers have witnessed, over the course of several seasons, how the two characters have gradually grown closer. In season 3 of the spinoff, Dan proposes to Louise and she accepts.
Fans now have their first glimpse of Dan and Louise’s wedding, courtesy of a new photo from EW. The image is from an upcoming episode, fittingly titled “The Wedding of Dan and Louise”, which will premiere on Wednesday, October 13. In the photo, which you can check out below, the happy couple is all smiles. But it looks like they will be experiencing some difficulties just before their big moment.
In a clip from the episode, Dan can’t seem to find his bride-to-be. Although it is possible that the weather is keeping Louise away, given that a tornado is moving in the direction of Landford, and could very well tear the roof off of the wedding venue. That would be another hurdle for the relationship between Louise and Dan. As explained by executive producer Bruce Helford in comments to TVLine, the wedding is a joyous moment for The Conners season 4. But it’s also a complicated one. If the ceremony does go off without a hitch, Dan will have to face the reality of sharing his home with someone else. In the past, it’s been hinted that it’s something of a sensitive spot for him.
Sagal will not become a regular cast member moving forward. But she will make fairly frequent appearances. In the previous season of the ABC sitcom, even as she was starring as the lead in the short-lived drama series Rebel, the actress appeared in 10 episodes of The Conners season 3. It’s expected that will continue in the future.
