Late night host Conan O' Brien pokes fun at the DC and Marvel debate in a brand new hilarious sketch. The supposed rivalry, which started decades ago in the form of comic books, has spilled over to the big screen, with both companies building their own cinematic universes: the DCEU (unofficial) and the MCU. Many have weighed-in on the matter, but the comedian's latest approach is not only funny, it also shines a spotlight on some of the most usual arguments one would hear when invested fans discuss the rivalry.

With comic book movies dominating Hollywood, fans are continuously treated to superhero films from various studios regularly, mostly from either Marvel or DC. As geek community converges in San Diego for this year's International Comic-Con, Conan decided to mine inspiration from the age-old competition between two of the biggest comic book companies out there to open the first of a series of special episodes of his nightly show, in celebration of the ongoing SDCC.

Now available on Team Coco's official YouTube channel, the bit features the late night host dressed as Batman in a superhero-populated cafeteria. While he should obviously sit down with his fellow Justice League friends like Superman, Aquaman, and Cyborg during lunch, he opts to go to the Marvel pack with Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther and Black Widow, in the hopes of possibly joining them. Chaos ensues thereafter as they debate why "The Avengers plus Batman" is such a bad idea. Watch the full sketch above.

While not exactly the same, the bit is reminiscent of How It Should Have Ended's animated Superhero Cafe offering, where all characters, whether they be from Marvel or DC, come together at a diner type setting and just casually talk about their latest adventures based on their films. Superman and Batman are mainstays of the sketch - almost like the hosts of the series - and over the years the Avengers, the rest of the Justice League and even the Guardians of the Galaxy have stopped by for some chill chit-chat. Recently, they even brought in the full cast of Avengers: Infinity War, which was really fun.

Unfortunately, at this point, there's no any indication that a crossover between the two main comic book brands will happen in the big screen. Both DC Films and Marvel Studios are busy building their own cinematic franchises, with the former even starting out a new DCEU-separate label (which may be either called DC Dark or Black) that will house the forthcoming Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix. The MCU, on the other hand, is gearing up for its ultimate culmination movie in next year's Avengers 4 before officially entering Phase 4. However, if nothing else, the Justice League cast shared last year that they'd be game to appear in one giant crossover movie with The Avengers.
