Debuting in 2009, Community was always known for being a hilarious show with sometimes bizarre comedic elements including some of the most ridiculous episodes in TV history. In spite of its outlandish humor, the series also has many incredibly heartwarming moments.

The study group gets to know each other over a period of several years and become very close friends. Although they make mistakes and get in plenty of fights, they go out of their way to redeem themselves and make up for their faults. On occasion, they even show complete selflessness and put the needs of the group before their own to do something nice.

Jeff Saved Britta From Being Expelled

When Britta faces expulsion for cheating on a Spanish test, Jeff steps up to defend her. He is eventually successful in saving Britta from being expelled.

Jeff also admits in one of his first sincere moments on the show that he wants to be Britta's friend and isn't just interested in sleeping with her.

Abed And Troy Let Annie Move In With Them

It's a constant point of concern among the study group that Annie lives in a dangerous part of town. When Troy and Abed get an apartment together, they eventually tell Annie she should move in with them.

Considering Troy and Abed are so close and have so many inside jokes, it was very considerate of them to offer up their home. The guys also set up a bedroom for Annie when she is upset that they won't take down the Dreamatorium.

Shirley Was Willing To Give Up Her Business For Jeff

In the episode "Introduction to Finality," Pierce and Shirley go to Greendale Court in a dispute over sole ownership of Shirley's Sandwiches. Jeff agrees to defend Shirley while his old partner Alan defends Pierce.

When Alan tells Jeff that if he throws the case he will get his old job back, Shirley agrees that Jeff should drop it. Shirley often puts the needs of the study group before her own. In this instance, she was willing to give up her own career dreams for the sake of Jeff's.

Troy Took Care Of The Group Even Though It Was His 21st Birthday

On Troy's 21st birthday, the study group decides to take him out to a bar to celebrate. Troy refrains from drinking until midnight when he is officially 21. By that time, he realizes his friends are either wasted or not having a good time.

He piles them all into Jeff's car and drives them home safely. Troy is a really good friend for taking care of the group and staying sober on his own birthday.

Pierce Got Sophie B. Hawkins To Come To Britta's Dance

When Britta commits to getting Sophie B. Hawkins to show up to her school dance, Pierce calls in a favor to get her to show up. In an uncharacteristic move for Pierce, he also admonishes Jeff for being a jerk to Britta and expresses pride that she didn't back down.

The nicest thing about this is that Pierce doesn't tell Britta he invited Sophie, so she is able to happily believe that the dance worked out through her own force of will.

The Group Helped Abed Deal With Feelings About Christmas

In the episode "Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas," the study group is concerned when Abed mentions that they are all stop-motion animated. Through a complicated group therapy session, they discover that Abed is coping with the loss of a family tradition.

He received a Christmas card from his mother saying that she has a new family and won't be visiting him for Christmas. Abed remembers that the two of them used to watch Christmas cartoons together. The study group then comforts him and they partake in his old tradition as a group.

Britta Helped Jeff Get Closure With His Dad

Even though Jeff initially denies the significance of reuniting with his estranged father, Britta knows that it's a big deal. She shows up to a Thanksgiving dinner at his dad's house to make sure Jeff goes through with meeting him.

While there, Britta tries to encourage deeper conversation between the two. This eventually ends up happening when Jeff tells off his father and gets the closure he needs to move on.

Annie Helped Britta Stay Away From Her Ex-Boyfriend

When Britta's ex-boyfriend Blade comes into town, she enlists Annie's help to stay away from him. Although Britta acts erratic all weekend, Annie does her best to help her friend.

She keeps Britta's phone on lockdown and lets her stay at her apartment. The weekend doesn't exactly go as planned, but it shows that Annie is willing to do anything to help a friend.

Abed Finished Shirley's Movie

Tensions arise between Abed and Shirley when the two create competing religious films. After Abed realizes that his film is a piece of crap, Shirley overhears his woes and destroys his movie before it can be completed.

Abed is appreciative, realizing that Shirley painted herself as the villain to help him. He finishes Shirley's religious movie which he initially refused to work on.

The Pop 'N' Lock-Athon

The episode "Accounting for Lawyers," is full of the study group doing nice things for each other. First, the group learns that Alan was the reason Jeff was disbarred at his old law firm. They go to great lengths to prove to Jeff that Alan is a bad friend.

Later Jeff returns the favor by leaving an office party at the firm to attend a Pop 'N' Lock-Athon with his friends at Greendale. He tells them that he wants to work at the law firm, but would prefer to hang out with "cool people" like the study group.
