The Community movie has the perfect opportunity for a genius cameo. With the announcement that Peacock has ordered a movie based on the sitcom, Community will finally, actually, have six seasons and a movie. Returning alongside series creator Dan Harmon are original cast members Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong. Yet, beyond the core cast, there is still room for one extra exciting appearance.

Despite this exciting announcement for fans of the cult sitcom, many details of the Community movie are yet to be announced. For instance, the director has not been revealed to the public, as of the time of writing. The confirmation of the participation (or lack thereof) of other members of the main Community cast, who departed before the end of season six, such as Donald Glover (a.k.a, Childish Gambino), Yvette Nicole Brown, and the controversial Chevy Chase, is not yet confirmed.

Before the announcement of the Community movie, during the COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020, the Community cast (sans Chevy Chase) reunited for an online table read of season 5, episode 4 "Cooperative Polygraphy". It was as a result of this special episode that the Community movie now has the option for an incredible cameo appearance. Filling in for that episode's guest star, Walton Goggins, was The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal. Now with the Community movie officially going ahead at Peacock, the project has the perfect opportunity to invite him back for a cameo.

Why Pedro Pascal Should Appear In The Community Movie

Community has a history of fantastic cameo appearances from a variety of celebrities and actors setting foot inside Greendale Community College. Highlights include LeVar Burton freaking out Reading Rainbow super fan Troy, Jeff's insecurity over Josh Holloway's attractive cowboy persona in the second paintball game, and Brie Larson almost single-handedly justifying the "gas leak" year that was Community season 4 with her appearance as Abed's love interest, Rachel. Pedro Pascal being a part of the Community movie would be a wonderful continuation of that tradition, especially with how memorable his appearance was, through his hilarious corpsing and breaking character during his bequeathment of frozen sperm to the other characters.

Pedro Pascal having a cameo in the Community movie would also make for fantastic fan service, especially if other characters will not be present. It is extremely unlikely that Chevy Chase will return, both due to his off-screen behavior on set, and the death of his character, Pierce, in season 5. Unfortunately, it is also not certain that Donald Glover will return as Troy Barnes, as he had previously been offered the opportunity to return to Community in its final season and turned that offer down. Having Pedro Pascal return for a cameo role would therefore help to soften the blow of several original cast members not returning for the Community movie.
