After six turbulent seasons, Community ended in 2015. The finale saw the Save Greendale Committee pitch a bunch of different versions of how a seventh season would look. Each pitch varied in quality, yet the episode as a whole was well-received.

One highlight, in particular, was how the series wrapped up each character's arc. While the residents of Greendale might've ended in a good place, what were there parting words? Did they say something funny? Interesting? Or were their last lines just plain weird? To find out, here are a collection of each major character's final line, excluding insignificant one or two-word comments.

Pierce: “Did I Sound Gay At The End? Do You Want To Do Another Take?”

Despite being one of the original characters, Pierce Hawthorne didn't stick around until the final episode of the show. Instead, his last appearance came in season five as a hologram situated at Greendale.

The moment he appeared, he delivered a pre-recorded message about the greatness of the school. These words actually affected Jeff and stopped him from ruining his old college. Unfortunately, the sweet moment ended in typical Pierce fashion with him saying something homophobic. It once again proved why he was one of the show's least likable characters.

Troy: "Why Don’t They Call It Planet Trek? You Never Go To A Star.”

Troy left the series midway through season five after an emotionally charged farewell episode. His reason for departing was to sail around the world with LeVar Burton. And unlike the first time he met the actor, Troy actually had the courage to speak to him.

He asked Burton a litany of Star Trek related questions. The final one was about the show's name, as Troy hilariously pointed out that the crew of the Starship Enterprise never actually had a trek to a star.

Buzz Hickey: “I’m Going To Tell You Something That I’d Like To Stay Between Us. I Was Thinking About A Hand Glider.”

During season five, grumpy teacher Buzz Hickey entered the show as a replacement for Pierce, but he only stuck around for the remainder of that season. In his final episode, Richie from the school board attempted to read his mind to find the other members of the group.

It initially seemed like the mind-reading failed. Yet, in the telepathic session, Richie saw a hand glider, and Hickey later revealed to Shirley that he was thinking about one at the time. While Hickey might not have been everybody's favorite character, it was a humorous final quote.

Shirley And Elroy: “You Know, Hallelujah And Church And Signing And Street Wisdom.”

After leaving at the beginning of season six, Shirley returned for the series finale. However, her only appearances came in the group's imaginary pitches. One of which, she featured alongside Elroy, who originally took her seat at the study table.

Unfortunately for them both, that pitch was created by the Dean. And he turned them into very stereotypical African American characters, as proven by their final line, which they delivered at the same time.

Dean: “In This Version, Would You Tell Me What To Do A lot?”

The only thing Dean Pelton loved more than incredibly stylish outfits was Jeff. And he expressed that in his last full line of the series. It was preceded by Jeff's pitch where everyone worked at the school.

In the fantasy, Jeff was Greendale's new dean, and Pelton was seemingly a student. While most people would be upset about the demotion, Pelton was excited by the idea of Jeff having power over him.

Annie: “Season Seven, Who Knows? It’s Out Of Our Hands. Too Many Variables.”

Towards the end of the finale, the entire group gathered in the study room for one last goodbye. Not only were they saying farewell to each other, but the room itself as many of their antics were conducted there.

However, Annie chimed in to say that the goodbye was just for season six as the future was still unknown. It was a line that was not only heart-warming yet left the door open for a potential season seven or even a movie.

Frankie: "I Think Everyone Should Imagine Their Own Personal Version Of Season Seven And Not Share It With Anyone. And Then Maybe It’ll Come True.”

During the final season, the ultra-professional Frankie entered the show and joined the Save Greendale Committee. In the early episodes, she seemed like an outsider, and there were questions about whether she'd ever fit in with everyone else.

By the last episode, though, the newcomer truly felt like a part of the group as she joined everyone in saying goodbye to the study room. While there, she suggested that everybody should imagine their own personal season seven. It was a good way to end the pitches storyline while giving Frankie a significant final line in the process.

Abed: “No Cutting To Any Of Them. If You Cut To It, It Won’t Come True.”

The finale was a big episode for Abed as he announced that he was moving to Los Angeles to work on a new tv show. It was significant because the character was always known for being heavily opposed to change. So for him to leave Greendale and move away was a big step.

Thankfully, even though he was growing up, he wasn't changing completely. This was evident when he responded to Frankie's last pitch suggestion with a forth-wall breaking comment. Being meta was always a big part of the character's personality, so his final words were fitting.

Jeff: “I Love That I Got To Be With You Guys. You Saved My Life, And Changed It Forever. Thank You.”

Jeff's last quote perfectly epitomized how much the character changed over the years. In the pilot, he was a self-centered narcissist who manipulated the study group in an attempt to sleep with Britta. Whereas in the finale, he tried desperately to keep everybody together.

Once he accepted that things had to change, he gave everyone a truly heartfelt goodbye. In those final moments, he proved that he cared about his friends, even if he didn't always show it.

Britta: “This Is The Show.”

Surprisingly, Britta didn't have a large role to play in the finale. While the other original group members all had major things going on, she was mainly there to provide comic relief. And she did just that, especially with her laughably bad season seven pitch.

At the end of the episode, Abed and Annie were gone, and she was sharing a drink with the remaining main characters. Seconds before the episode faded to black, Britta said "this is the show." It was a nice way to bring the whole thing to a close - before the infomercial skit.

Chang: “Right. That’s Right."

Ben Chang with his eyebrows raised

For someone who's known for their crazy antics, Chang's final words were relatively ordinary. All he did was agree with Britta's opinion that everyone drinking together was the show. His words were so out of character that it might've actually been his actor, Ken Jeong, speaking instead of Chang.

Although the biggest surprise was the fact that Chang even made it to the finale in the first place. After his constant backstabbing of the group throughout the series, who knew that he'd be sitting beside the remaining members as the last episode reached its conclusion.
