Considering that fans of Community have seen the students of Greendale participate in five paintball battles, "The Hunger Deans," a pillow and blanket war, and a long game of the "Floor Is Lava," it wouldn't be surprising if a few familiar faces turned up in the Squid Game.

Fans would expect the Greendale Seven to be the frontrunners since they are usually the ones who adapt the quickest in any environment. However, upon closer examination of the study group's personalities and arcs, not all of them had what it took to get to the final stage. Rather, there are a few other intelligent and calculating characters that just might eliminate them.

Least: Craig Pelton

If there was one character that would likely fall at the first hurdle, it was Craig Pelton. Although fans love Craig and would consider him to be one of the most likable characters on Community, he wasn't a great Dean. He would often break under extreme pressure or rely on Frankie Dart and the study group to fix his problems.

If he entered the Squid Game, it's likely that Craig would crumble under the same pressure and would either be killed in the first couple of minutes of the first challenge after panicking.

Ian Duncan

Although Ian Duncan did have a bit of a calculating and cunning side to him, he was mainly harmless as he never had the confidence to go through with his plans.

This is something that would also be highlighted in the Squid Game. Like he did in the "Floor is Lava" game, he might try to sabotage someone only to back down once another player challenged him. Ian would probably end up being killed once one of the other players realized what a nuisance he was.

Pierce Hawthorne

Pierce resting his face on his chin in Community

Pierce Hawthorne may have redeemed himself by the time he died. However, when it came to any type of competition, the viewers often saw a terrible side come out. He would get aggressive, start insulting other people, and he was far too competitive. Pierce also had a habit of impulsively running into action, which often led him to make some big mistakes.

All these characteristics would be a game-changer if Pierce entered the Squid Game. Not only would the contestants be forced to listen to him complain, but he would probably try and sabotage them so he could get ahead. However, it would be his stupidity and impatience that would lead to his downfall since Pierce had been the type of person who wouldn't have listened to the instructions and kept moving regardless in the "Red Light, Green Light" round.

Britta Perry

Britta looking dishevelled in Community

While Britta Perry can be cutthroat when she wants to be, it's likely she wouldn't get as far as some of the other characters. If Britta wanted to, she could progress further in the Game, as the psychology student has outsmarted and outwitted several members of the study group.

However, the main reason why Britta wouldn't get far is because of her morality. Britta would likely try and convince the other competitors to walk out and protest against the competition since it represented everything she hated. Unfortunately for her, not everyone was as selfless or altruistic, so it's Britta would have likely been killed by one of the greedier contestants.

Frankie Dart

Frankie Dart may have only appeared in the final season of Community, but during that short stint, she did make quite an impression on fans. When fans first met her, they could already see how intelligent, mature, and resolute she was. She would often resolve problems by coming up with quick and creative plans and became somewhat of a leader for the group.

The problem was, she wasn't exactly the easiest person to get along with. Although Frankie liked to think she was confident and stern, many of the other students thought her to be arrogant and stand-offish. Since Frankie could be condescending, this perception of her would carry into the Squid Game. It's likely the reason she would be killed too, since some of the contestants might believe she is insulting them.

Troy Barnes

After it was revealed that Donald Glover was leaving Community, some fans were a little sad that the show was losing such an integral member of the study group. Troy Barnes may have started as a mean-spirited jock, but as the seasons progressed, fans soon discovered that he had a heart of gold. His naivety and innocence often led to some sweet moments too, especially when he was paired with Abed Nadir.

Sadly, if Troy was in the Squid Game, it's likely that he wouldn't make it to the final stages. Whether it's because of his pure heart or his extreme loyalty to his friends, Troy didn't have it in him to manipulate anyone. If he was paired with Abed or one of his loved ones in the "Marbles Round," it's likely that he would have sacrificed himself so they could continue on.

Elroy Patashnik

Elroy Patashnik might not have got as much screentime in comparison to the other characters, but he was certainly someone fans would have loved to see more of. As a former scientist and inventor, the viewers enjoyed hearing about the products he designed or what other contraptions he came up with.

This might come in use for him if he entered the Squid Game as he would likely be able to work out and complete the challenges quickly. He could probably even turn a few contestants against each other. However, given that most of his ideas end up backfiring, his tactics could too.

Ben Chang

If there was one person that fans expected to go far in the Squid Game, it would be Ben Chang. Although he was a lot calmer in the last couple of seasons, Ben certainly was one of the most calculating and most devious characters on the show.

He had been involved in several kidnapping schemes and would often turn against the study group once he realized he was on the losing side. If the former Spanish teacher was to enter the Squid Game, he would likely use the same calculating tactics to try and get to the last challenge. The only thing that could stop him from winning is that there are people who would outsmart him.

Shirley Bennett

An image of Shirley smiling in Community

Shirley Bennett might be the quietest and most reserved member of the study group, but that doesn't mean people should underestimate her. Considering Shirley challenged Annie Edison in the race for valedictorian without Annie even realizing it, many fans would say that Shirley would be the underdog of the competition.

Not only is she quite headstrong and determined, but her love for her family would also give her the motivation to go on to win. The only thing that might stop her from going all the way is the actual "Squid Game," as Shirley would not want to kill someone herself.

Annie Edison

Since she had such a driven personality and is such a perfectionist, Annie Edison had what it takes to make it to the final round of the Squid Game. She always strived to be number one in everything and completely hated it if she failed to achieve any of her goals, so many people would expect her to be entirely focused on these challenges.

On a few occasions, Annie's competitiveness did lead to viewers seeing a violent and mean streak in her, which would likely come out more as the challenges progressed. While many Community fans would love to have a friend like her, they wouldn't want to have her as an ally in the long run since she could quickly turn on a person in the name of the competition.

Jeff Winger

Jeff Winger would also be another character most fans would expect to do well in the Squid Game. Since he has been described as "a textbook narcissist" by Britta, it wouldn't surprise fans if Jeff ended up winning the competition.

Not only would he be able to get other people to do his bidding, but Jeff's routine workouts and tall frame would also mean he would be a difficult opponent to take down. He could win as long as he didn't form any attachments or let the other contestants see his weaknesses.

Most: Abed Nadir

An image of Abed sitting in an office in Community

If there was one person fans would be rooting for, it would be Abed. Abed certainly had what it takes to get a win in the Squid Games, as he had many great attributes. He had excellent observational skills, was highly intelligent, and was quite athletic. Abed also knew when he was being used so he would also make sure he had a backup plan prepared if necessary.

However, what would increase Abed's odds more than anyone else's was that he would be able to predict the game and everyone's moves. It might be because he's watched plenty of TV shows or movies, but Abed would use his knowledge of tropes and conventions to guess how the plays unfold.
