One of the most unique comedies of its time, Community would end up becoming a classic amongst its fans. A massive reason behind this clear fact was that it did a marvelous job of gradually connecting its main characters. Sure, they were vastly different in personalities and bickered far more than most friends. Yet, even with this being so, their admiration for one another would develop immensely in time.

The show truly did a wonderful job with building their relationships through a plethora of specific scenes. A common theme presented through them was the fact that they had to work through an obstacle whilst in the process. By the show's end, this group would become one of the strongest within the entire television world.

Taking a deeper dive into this makes this abundantly clear.

The Very Beginning

The formation of the group was famously built on a lie by Jeff. Of course, he was aiming to secure Britta romantically, so he lied and made up the study group because Britta needed help with Spanish. And well, that was where the story would begin.

Although the group was not supposed to happen, it turned out to be the best thing for Jeff. From the very beginning, everyone would end up connecting, even though they had differing personalities.

The Spanish Project

The Spanish project would be a pretty significant part of this series. It not only brought upon the famous rap that began the process of Abed and Troy's close friendship but also led Jeff to grow close to Pierce.

Although Jeff was first livid with Pierce for making an entirely different script for the project, he ended up going along with it. This showed that Jeff was willing to do things to make others in the group happy.

Pierce Helped Shirley With Her Speech

From the beginning of the series, Shirley was not too keen on Pierce, as he often made unwanted advances towards her. However, they would end up having a change in their dynamic a bit after Pierce offered to help Shirley with her public speaking assignment.

In fact, this would be immensely important for Shirley's future business aspirations, as he successfully taught her how to public speak without being nervous. This definitely was a great friendship moment between the two.

Somewhere Out There

Another big moment between Troy and Abed was when they sang "Somewhere Out There" to lure back their project rat. This was huge because Troy was immensely scared of them, but ended up coming through to help Abed.

This certainly would end up being one of the most memorable musical moments from the series as well. It definitely helped strengthen the connection between these two, which of course would be a common theme.

The Friendship Hats

Although this may have seemed like a small part of the series, the friendship hats were very important. Jeff made them up as a way to get Troy and Abed to stop bickering, which was very different than what the audience was used to seeing from him.

Jeff never was into the make-believe antics that these two were famous for, but in an attempt to restore order amongst the friendship group, he did so. That was definitely a telling sign that Jeff did care about the well-being of them.

The First Paintball Game

The first paintball game saw the group team up with one another. This was a great friendship moment, as it saw them sacrifice themselves to save the others. It also showed that they were a unit, even with a large prize promised to the winner of the game.

This trend would carry over to future paintball episodes as well, so it was apparent that their loyalty to one another would not disappear. Thus, it certainly can be stated that this cemented their friendships.

Timeline #7

The 7th timeline at Troy and Abed's apartment absolutely was a massive moment in their friendships. It was simply a wholesome moment, as it saw the entire group, minus Jeff, simply being themselves while singing and dancing to "Roxanne" by The Police.

It was great to see after all the chaos that would occur in the other timelines from that episode. Also, with Jeff getting the pizza in this said timeline, he was able to embrace them enjoying the music, rather than shutting them down beforehand.

Annie Moved In With Troy And Abed

Whilst in the 7th timeline, Annie would go on to compliment their apartment. This would lead Abed to say that she should move in with them, which she, of course, was ecstatic to do so. She had been living in a dangerous area that was putting her safety at risk.

This would also lead to an even closer bond between Annie and the lovable best friends, as she would join in with their television references as the series progressed. It also made Annie a bit less stressed, as she was able to have more fun.

Pierce's Goodbyes To The Group

Sure, there were plenty of times where Pierce was bad to the group. However, after his final bout of torture to them, he would go on to say his final goodbyes to them. This was where the audience would hear Pierce's true feelings towards them all.

There may have been some jokes in his words, but overall, it was so wholesome hearing Pierce be vulnerable, even if it was being relayed by another person. It was a touching send-off for Pierce, who really had been vilified throughout the series.

The Finale

The character growth from Jeff was truly astounding, especially in the final season. Jeff was no longer closed off with the group and even expressed his immense respect and love for them. This was most effectively presented in the finale.

He openly stated that they all changed his life, while also telling him that he loved that he experienced everything with them. His goodbyes to the entire group were also extremely touching, as it perfectly depicted just how much they blossomed as a group.
