Comic-Con is On

The 2009 San Diego Comic-Con is officially underway. Yesterday (Wednesday) thousands of people started streaming into San Diego, bringing traffic around the Convention Center to a standstill. The Screen Rant crew arrived from Philadelphia, Canada, Utah and San Francisco and are ready to start delivering coverage to you today.

We have Kofi Outlaw, Bruce Simmons, Rob Keyes and myself spreading out across the convention to bring as much coverage as we can. For up to the minute live updates "snippets" you can follow us on Twitter as well:

Yesterday was more of a getting together/planning day than anything else. We met up at Dick's Last Resort downtown with a bunch of other cool movie site guys including Robert Sanchez from IESB, Kellvin Chavez, George Roush and "El Mayimbe" from Latino Review, Garth Franklin of Dark Horizons, Wilson Morales of Black Film, Ryan Rotten of Shocktilyoudrop and a bunch more folks. It was great getting a chance to meet and talk to folks that we only communicate with online all year long.

It's early but the lines are already pretty crazy to get into both Hall H (where the "big" panels are) and the floor of the convention center itself. I'll be leaving in a few minutes to attend the Masters of the Web panel and later today among the items we'll be covering are the Disney 3D panel, New Moon, Avatar, Pandorum and Kick-Ass.

Here's a partial list of what we'll be bringing you over the next few days in addition to the items above:

  • Avatar
  • Where the Wild Things Are
  • Jonah Hex
  • Book of Eli
  • Nightmare on Elm Street
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Flash Forward
  • Stargate Universe
  • Caprica
  • 9
  • District 9
  • Dollhouse
  • 24
  • Lost
  • Chuck
  • Extract
  • Iron Man 2
  • True Blood
  • Gears of War
  • Black Dynamite
  • Torchwood
  • Smallville
  • Supernatural

We'll try to get the info out to you as fast as we can, so keep an eye out for updates throughout today and through Sunday!
