One of those people who tested positive for coronavirus is former Bachelor star Colton Underwood. Since he's a young, healthy person, it was a huge shock for fans. He just revealed why he decided to be so public about his battle.

Right now, people are living in a world of uncertainty. No one knows how long the coronavirus pandemic will go on for or how many people will be affected. No one knows if scientists will be able to develop a cure. There are just so many undefined variables. At the beginning of this pandemic, many people believed that coronavirus was only detrimental to senior citizens and people with preexisting conditions. Soon enough, that changed when more cases were reported. Colton is the pinnacle of health, as someone who keeps in shape and complies with a healthy diet. He is only 28-years-old and a former athlete. When he was diagnosed in March it was shocking becuase he was really struggling. He wasn't just a carrier. He had trouble breathing and admitted that he struggled to walk up a flight of stairs. Now, Colton has recovered from coronavirus, but that doesn't mean he's done talking about what he went through. He is just getting started when it come to sharing a very important message.

Colton talked about his experience on the radio show Morning MAGIC. He shared, "I'm doing much better." But, it wasn't an easy road to get to that point. Colton recalled, "Unfortunately, and fortunately, I think I was one of the first people in California [diagnosed]. I got diagnosed when there was only like 30 cases out here." The new author admitted, "You know, it was a little scary. There were a lot of different emotions running through me, but I'm healthy, I'm good, and I'm helping how I can." Part of that involves speaking out and telling people what it was really like contract the virus.

When Colton was diagnosed, there was even more uncertainty than there is now, and quite frankly, a lot of people just weren't taking the pandemic seriously enough. Colton shared, "I was diagnosed when there were still partiers on the beach in Florida. Everybody was trying to figure out if it was real or not." Now, he's doing what he can to make sure that all people know just how real this is. He elaborated, "I felt like it was impotant for me to use my social media or any platform that I had just to speak out and say 'Hey guys, I can speak from experience right now. This not just for older people. This is not just for people with preexisting conditions. It's for everybody."

Yes, it's possible to contract coronavirus and exhibit zero symptoms, but why take the chance? Colton's case demonstrates that a young guy who prioritizes his health can still get coronavirus and be severely affected by it. Yes, there is still a lot of mystery when it comes to this novel virus. There is also a lot of skepticism, even still. Coronavirus spreads at such a rapid rate. When it comes to Colton's social media posts about coronavirus, he is "here for the right reasons." If this former Bachelor's openness can convince even one person to change their ways, it was well worth it.
