Former The Bachelor star Colton Underwood is ready to pass the torch. He recently explained why Peter Weber, who appeared on the latest season of The Bachelorette, is ready to be the next Bachelor.
Underwood, who first appeared on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette, starred in the 23rd season of The Bachelor, where he ended up proposing to contestant Cassie Randolph. In between, he had a brief stint on the spinoff Bachelor in Paradise. If anyone knows what it takes to be a Bachelor contestant, it's Underwood. Now, he's offering his advice on who should be the next Bachelor to find love on the reality competition show. Currently in the running are former contestants from Hannah Brown's season, like fan favorite Mike Johnson, runner-up Tyler Cameron, and second runner-up Weber, who famously had sex with Brown in a windmill.
Underwood recently told E! News that he hopes Weber is the next Bachelor. He said the former Bachelorette contestant "has a lot of qualities that it takes to be a good Bachelor." He added that if he's chosen, Weber would do an "awesome job" in the role. Weber, a 28-year-old pilot, found himself in some drama on Brown's season when there were rumors he had a girlfriend before going on the show. However, the show's host Chris Harrison came to his defense, calling it all a misunderstanding. Both he and Underwood have nothing but positive things to say about The Bachelorette contestant.
Underwood continued, saying Weber displayed qualities like the ability to get to know himself and "push and fight for a relationship." He also said Weber was "open and vulnerable" on Brown's season and that he's "really ready" to be the next Bachelor. Underwood added Weber was ready to settle down and that he's "at a point in his life where he really wants to share his life with somebody." Weber might have a good shot at becoming the next Bachelor, since Harrison has his hesitations about Cameron after he was spotted with both Brown and supermodel Gigi Hadid just days apart.
Many people are championing Johnson as the next Bachelor, however, especially considering the franchise's serious lack of diversity throughout the years. But some people would like to find out what other unusual places Weber might have sex in - so it's really a toss-up. Regardless of who Bachelor Nation is rooting for, they're going to have to wait to find out who the next star of The Bachelor is. The network isn't announcing who it will be until the conclusion of the current season of Bachelor in Paradise.
