It appears that Call of Duty: Warzone players on PC will soon be able to take advantage of Nvidia's DLSS technology, which is rumored to arrive in Season 3. This is yet another leak in a steady flow of rumors and speculation surrounding the anticipated Season 2 finale, which will take place next week.

One of the recent leaks regarding new content coming to Warzone in Season 3 revealed a handful of new firearms and melee weapons, which were secretly included in one of the previous updates for the game. The discovery was made by a reputable dataminer who found a few files associated with possible new weapons. Listed in the leak were an assault rifle with rapid burst-fire mode, a sub-machine gun with a high rate of fire, and a ballistic knife. The latter is a legendary weapon from the Black Ops subseries’ arsenal, which is expected to make a welcome return.

Apparently, this week’s Nvidia newsletter included an unintentional leak of what to expect from Call of Duty: Warzone in the upcoming Season 3. According to the piece of intel featured in the email’s title, the battle royale standalone game will allegedly receive Nvidia DLSS support on April 22, exactly when the current season wraps up and the next one launches. A screenshot of the email was shared by LeonardoLeal on Twitter, who pointed out that weirdly, there was no trace of the announcement on the official Nvidia website. If true, owners of Nvidia RTX GPUs will benefit from increased performance in the game. The technology is already available in Black Ops Cold War, allowing the title to run smoothly at higher FPS counts compared to regular conditions. Basically, DLSS is a rendering technology based on AI deep learning, resulting in significantly boosted performance due to a specific use of Tensor Core AI present in Nvidia RTX devices.

Despite a bounty of exciting new content planned for Warzone, the road towards Season 3 was paved with numerous issues. The latest one, acknowledged by Raven Software, was a game-breaking invincibility glitch, which allowed players to become completely invulnerable to incoming damage. As revealed by developers, the reason for the bug was a set of recently introduced Most Wanted contracts in the Verdansk Battle Royale playlist, which were removed until such time as the issue is fixed. According to multiple reports, players affected by the glitch were totally unkillable, even rising from the dead after execution animations.

The rumored Nvidia DLSS support in Warzone might suggest that the battle royale game will experience a much more massive integration with Black Ops Cold War than previously imagined. It’s quite possible that the title’s very engine might receive a technical update to bring it on par with Black Ops Cold War’s version. If that’s indeed the case, then Warzone’s system requirements could be revised, leaving PC players on weaker machines with decreased performance.
