Game streaming personality Dr Disrespect has suggested that Call of Duty: Warzone could boost player health and shields to combat overpowered weapons - namely the Sykov pistol. The near-bottomless weapon was much anticipated for many week. Now that it's arrived, though, players are bemoaning the ridiculous attachment combo of 80-Round Drums and Akimbo, which decimates foes and allows for accurate, practically endless bullet spray.

The Call of Duty battle royale spin-off's Sykov pistol addition initially leaked, a running theme that defines almost everything that comes to the game. There have been constant rumors about a potential new map replacing Verdansk, with the original map reportedly being destroyed by a nuclear attack. Activision finally announced the changes last week after the number of leaks became too much to ignore. The publisher released a cinematic for Warzone Season Three, detailing how the mode will have stronger ties to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. While those Season Three changes are potentially imminent, players are worried about countering the Sykov pistol's OP status in the meantime.

Popular streamer Dr Disrespect has suggested an idea for combatting the overpowered Sykov pistol in Warzone. In a recent stream first spotted by Dexerto, the internet personality was astounded by the power of the pistol. Baffled at its overpowered-ness, he remarked, "I feel like I’m playing a limited-time mode," in response to experiencing it first-hand. The gun, which was introduced on April 15, has a high rate of fire and can be used with both Akimbo and 80-Round Drums, making it incredibly unbalanced. Rather than simply nerf the gun, Dr Disrespect asked whether developer Raven Softwar should "tune the player health and shield” instead. This then led to a discussion about the possibility of allowing the use of extra armor plates and boosting player health, which would be a novel solution to a usual nerf-resolved issue.

Dr Disrespect is strongly associated with the Call of Duty franchise, having previously worked on the series as a community manager level designer. As a streamer, he has proven to be highly controversial and was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020. While the exact reason for his suspension from the streaming service has never been officially revealed, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare voice actor Jeff Leach suggested it was a result of Dr Disrespect lying to Twitch about a potential offer from rival service Mixer shortly before Microsoft shut it down.

Ever since it first launched, Call of Duty: Warzone has struggled to introduce new weapons and items without significantly altering the balance of the game. It often takes several weeks for the developers to finetune guns, leading to some frustration from players. This idea from Dr Disrespect is just one possible solution, although it would also change the way fans play the game a great deal.
