Call of Duty: Vanguard introduces a slew of new weapons for players to level up in multiplayer modes. Just like in previous Call of Duty games with larger install sizes, weapons must be leveled up to unlock new attachments. The more attachments players have for a gun, the more weapon options they have for their classes. Additionally, leveling up guns in Call of Duty: Vanguard also levels up the same guns in Warzone.

While it is not necessary to level up guns to perform well with them, it is always better to have at least a few attachments on a weapon. Attachments such as optics and grips will change the way a weapon functions for the better. Unlocking attachments assures players have the best loadouts possible across game modes. There are a few surefire ways to efficiently level up weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Players have two forms of XP they gain in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Player XP is earned through various means; playing multiplayer modes, getting kills, and earning medals will increase player XP and level up their character. Conversely, players also gain weapon XP. Weapon XP can only be earned by getting kills with that specific gun. Gaining medals for getting double or triple kills will not increase the weapon XP gained. Playing and beating the short campaign mode will not earn players weapon XP. Instead, there is a flat rate of 105 weapon XP gained for each kill in a respawn game mode.

Leveling Up Weapons The Best Way In Call Of Duty: Vanguard

Respawn game modes in Vanguard include modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Free for All, and Kill Confirmed. These game modes allow players to rack up weapon XP quickly since they are constantly respawning upon death. Game modes with no respawns, such as Search and Destroy, will net players more weapon XP but at a much slower rate. Plus, there are less players to potentially kill in non-respawn game modes.

The most Vanguard weapon XP comes from the game mode Champions Hill. This game mode gives players 496 weapon XP per kill, which is significantly more than any other mode. Players cannot choose a class in Champions Hill, so they must choose a weapon available for purchase. If players want to level up a specific weapon, playing a game mode like Domination is probably more precise than Champions Hill. However, if players find a gun they want to level up in Champion’s Hill, it is always the most efficient choice.

Players also receive weapon XP multipliers the longer they stay in a match. This means the ideal game modes for farming weapon XP are modes in which players can get the most kills in the longest amount of time. The longer they stay in a match, the more weapon XP gathered per kill. Modes like Domination are preferable for long-term game modes in which players can rack up dozens of kills in one match. This is made more difficult with Call of Duty: Vanguard's weapon bloom feature, but the task is far from impossible.
