Weapon unlock challenges will finally be added to Zombies in Black Ops Cold War as part of the game's already extensive roadmap of season 3 content, and Treyarch Studios listed plenty of heavy-duty firepower for players to unlock. Currently, only Multiplayer game modes in Black Ops Cold War allow players to unlock weapons via challenges, leaving Zombies fans out, but now it seems like this is about to change.
The new era for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will begin on April 22, and a road map for the Season Three updates was recently revealed. With new multiplayer maps, modes, and scorestreaks, Multiplayer gamers have plenty to look forward to. New operators and guns were also revealed, alongside a plethora of other features coming to both Zombies and Multiplayer modes. Now, a new reveal by Treyarch Studios has Zombies more reason to get excited, as it gives them even more incentive to blast holes in the heads of the bloodthirsty undead.
In a tweet by Treyarch Studios, Weapon Unlock Challenges in Zombies mode were revealed. Players can unlock powerful weapons like the R1 Shadowhunter, Streetsweeper, and ZRG 20mm through challenges, just like players can in Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer. Treyarch revealed only one challenge so far, for the R1 Shadowhunter. The crossbow launches a lethal bolt projectile to silently eliminate enemies.
To unlock the R1 Shadowhunter in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, players have to use a Special weapon that has been Pack-A-Punched at least twice. They must rack up fifty total kills with this weapon to unlock the crossbow. Most likely the challenges will be harder or easier depending on the utility of the desired weapon, and players will have to kill a lot of zombies in many different ways to unlock all of the unique weapons.
With all the announcement from Treyarch Studios, Season Three is shaping up to be a wild ride for Black Ops Cold War players. The additional features and improvements to the game could keep fans engaged and bring more into the fray. With the update starting tomorrow, April 22, players will get a chance to jump into the upgraded Black Ops Cold War and fight it out in new maps with new operators. There is no telling whether the Zombies Weapon Unlock Challenges will arrive immediately or down the road, but it will likely be soon as Season Three gets underway in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
