COD: Black Ops Cold War players can utilize the best weapon accessories in the game’s ongoing beta, as all attachments have been unlocked for participants. The beta began on October 8 for PS4 players who pre-ordered the game and opened to all PS4 users on October 10. This weekend, users on PC and Xbox One were given access to the beta, as well as PS4 players. Attempting to get the most out of the community’s feedback, Activision and Treyarch have extended the Black Ops Cold War beta one more day, now ending on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

Not everything has been sunshine and rainbows with the beta, however, as there have already been reports that the game has a huge hacking problem. The most prominent hacks have been aimbots for perfect aim and wall hacks for seeing enemy players through walls. Aside from the ongoing beta, Black Ops Cold War is giving players more control over their settings by adding an FOV slider to console versions and implementing more HUD options.

Capitalizing on the decision to extend the beta an extra day, Treyarch and Activision have announced via the official Call of Duty Twitter that beta participants can now equip all weapon attachments. This development will persist until the beta ends on Tuesday. Accompanying the post is a short video showcasing some of the weapons’ various attachments, including different scopes, muzzles, and barrels. Additionally, players will now earn double experience points while leveling up their weapons during the beta.

Weapon attachments are icing on the cake for many weapons in the Call of Duty franchise. Players rank up their weapons and profile to unlock the best accessories for their loadouts. While weapon attachments aren’t necessary to success in the early days of the franchise’s most recent installment, they became more and more pivotal to holding one’s own, especially when trying to make longer shots with weapons that aren’t traditionally a sharpshooter’s primary choice. Arguably the most useful attachments are the various scopes and perks players unlock over time.

PC players will likely have the most freedom in terms of varying their loadouts and attachments, especially when it comes to dealing with recoil and aim stabilization. It is much easier to maintain decent aim using a mouse than a controller joystick. Thus, PC users can focus more on attachments that improve aim, grant passive perks, and increase magazine ammo capacity. With everyone now able to access all attachments, true experimentation between different platforms can begin.
