Evidence from Call of Duty leakers online, though some of it is conflicting, suggests Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode may soon receive a new map set in Vietnam. Should this prove accurate, it would especially be good news for the title's regular players, many of whom feel this year's Zombies mode offerings are sorely lacking in the content department.

Content-wise, Zombies mode is slim pickings for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Some fans would argue it is the least complete Zombies experience that a Treyarch Studios project has offered in well over a decade. More robust gameplay options are on the horizon, however. In fact, the development team previously promised players that Zombies mode is primed to usher in a few extras once the game's first season of content rolls out on December 10th. Interestingly, a handful of leaks could very well provide a glimpse at what said roll out may entail.

Ahead of Black Ops Cold War's release last month, a leak from The Cheeseburger Boys on Twitter made the rounds, claiming the title would launch with three separate maps for Zombies. Allegedly, those maps were to include Die Maschine, Nacht Der Untoten, and another Firebase Z. With regards to a supposed new map, that's where Firebase Z enters the picture. According to GamingIntel, Firebase Z will serve as an American firebase located in the heart of Vietnam. A video from YouTuber Declan Hillman, indicates Zombies will take over the map in question in the near future.

During a Black Ops Cold War campaign mission, Hillman encountered a glitch allowing him to freely explore Firebase Z. GamingIntel notes that some of Hillman's footage features assets included in the Zombies map for Shi No Numa. Akin to Die Maschine representing a jumping-off point for Nacht Der Untoten, it's possible Shi No Numa may similarly serve as a jump-off for Firebase Z. The conflicting nature of the leaks and speculation comes courtesy of known Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, who recently scoffed at the rumors, insisting a new map for Zombies wouldn't arrive until February 2021 at the earliest. But additional evidence in the form of a leaked document hints that dimensional gateways will open in Vietnam. The document says Russians will converge on the scene first to begin construction of an Omega Group site on November 11th. In terms of the in-game order of events, this date marks day one of Season 1. Though it's worth noting that the document further hints the "first full report" is slated for March. As such, it's possible the Firebase map won't go live before the early part of next year.

Of course, not every leak or leaker is correct. In this case, a fresh Zombies map featuring in the upcoming Season 1 release makes sense. So, too, does it stand to reason that the new content would arrive in early 2021. As of now, all fans can do is patiently await Treyarch's next announcement.
