The alpha version of Call of Duty 2020 could have potentially leaked onto the Microsoft Store under the code name The Red Door. While convincing information and screenshots have been posted online, these have yet to be confirmed as legitimate leaks.

In May of this year, a game titled The Red Door had been leaked online in a series of patch notes for the PS4. While the game was titled The Red Door, its content ID listing was "COD2020INTALPHA1". This listing was believed to mean "Call of Duty 2020 Internal Alpha 1," which led people to believe that this leak was related to the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. As a new Call of Duty title is published almost yearly, fans of the series have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of what they are calling Call of Duty 2020. At first, the leak seemed farfetched, but a new series of leaks gives credibility to the idea that The Red Door is related to Call of Duty.

A listing for The Red Door has recently appeared on the Microsoft Store with Activision listed as the game's publisher. Activision is the long time publisher of the Call of Duty series, including the most recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The game is listed as an "M" rated shooter that is over 80gb in size. There is no option to purchase the game, but there is an option to redeem a code. According to a tweet by ModernWarzone, players have found a way to download and launch the game one their consoles. When downloaded, the Xbox home screen icon for the game is listed as Call of Duty: Black Ops CIA. ModernWarzone claims that CIA stands for "Closed Internal Alpha."

The game's listing on the Xbox Store has quite an obscure description that reads: "There is more than one truth. If you go looking for answers, be ready to question everything and accept that nothing will ever be the same. The Red Door awaits, do you dare step through it?" While it does not sound like it is describing a Call of Duty game, Activision has strayed from traditional shooters in the past with titles like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The mysterious description may mean that The Red Door is a different game entirely.

These leaks are pretty convincing, and if they are believed to be true then players can expect to hear the announcement for a new Call of Duty: Black Ops sometime in the near future. Black Ops games, with the exception of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, are known for their incredible campaigns. If The Red Door is a leaked Call of Duty 2020 alpha, then players can hope that the game's description is hinting at another great storyline.
