A tease in Cobra Kai season 5 suggests that Terry Silver’s story is over. After two seasons of menacing the show’s main characters, The Karate Kid Part III villain was finally brought down in the Cobra Kai season 5 finale. It seems that the threat he posed to Daniel, Johnny, and their students has finally been put to rest.

Through his influence and financial resources, Silver held a huge advantage over Daniel, Chozen, and Johnny. Even though the three characters were united against him, there was a sense that Silver was such a challenging opponent that taking him down would take an additional season and perhaps last until the date of the Sekai Taikai. But instead of prolonging the conflict, Cobra Kai brought it to a swift end with a brawl in Silver’s house and a separate fight at the dojo. Now, Silver’s crimes have finally been exposed and his students have lost faith in him, presumably for good. With these developments, the show is free to move on to a new challenge for season 6.

While the show is certainly in a position to move forward without Silver now, one moment in season 5 leads to the impression intentionally left some loose ends untied. In episode 9, Silver shocked Carmen and Johnny by appearing in a hospital elevator. Afterward, the meeting was discussed by the characters, who concluded that Silver couldn’t have followed them. They speculated on his reasons for being there, but none was ever offered. Due to the inclusion of this exchange and the lack of an answer to this question, there’s a good chance that the show was planting seeds for a future development. Obviously, it can’t explore it without bringing him back for Cobra Kai season 6.

Cobra Kai Has Also Set Up Terry Silver Having A Medical Condition

Terry Silver looking at Johnny in Cobra Kai season 5

Silver showing up at the hospital (but not to confront Johnny and Daniel) is a sign that he has a secret medical condition. Interestingly, this idea is supported by season 4, which pointedly showed Silver taking medicine after getting worked up, and also included a scene where his chef immediately expressed concern over his health when Silver chose not to eat. All things considered, it does feel likely that Silver has medical issues that Kreese, Johnny, Daniel, and Cobra Kai’s students have no knowledge of in season 5.

It's possible that Silver is suffering from a terminal illness. Silver dying would make sense, as it fits with what he told Chozen. In episode 2, he explained that his ultimate goal is to be remembered for something. Given how this could drastically alter how others view him and his decisions, such a reveal could easily justify bringing the character back and giving him more to do in Cobra Kai season 6. It’s hard to say if the show wants to redeem him, but based on previous setup with Silver, it certainly looks like the show isn’t ready to close the door on him just yet. Dealing with a potentially life-threatening condition and grappling with defeat could define Silver’s next arc in Cobra Kai.
