Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai are ready for action in new character posters for Cobra Kai season 4. The fourth season of Netflix’s popular Karate Kid sequel series focuses on the re-started All Valley Tournament as the show’s three rival dojos prepare for the ultimate showdown.

Of course season 4 also introduces a new twist by bringing in Terry Silver, the villain of the largely forgotten 1989 movie Karate Kid III. Not surprisingly, Silver quickly teams up with Cobra Kai dojo leader Kreese to take down Daniel LaRusso and his Miyagi-Do dojo. And Cobra Kai should have plenty of new tricks up their sleeves as a recent trailer showed Johnny's rebellious son Robby teaching Kreese's students the ways of Miyagi-Do, including the famous "wax on, wax off" lesson.

In case any fans have forgotten who the main Cobra Kai players are and which dojos they belong to since season 3, Netflix UK & Ireland has released a new collection of character posters that they’ve sorted into Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai. In a nice touch, the posters are actually done to look like trading cards for the All Valley Tournament. See the new images in the space below:

Indeed Cobra Kai season 4 has the feel of something that the entire show has been building toward, as it positions the three dojos and gets them ready to square off in an actual karate tournament and not a rumble in the hallways of a school or a random fight in someone’s house. Of course being in a tournament under actual official rules probably won’t stop Cobra Kai from fighting dirty, as Kreese continues the dojo’s famed “Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy” philosophy, with even more villainy added to the mix by Terry Silver.

In fact it seems somewhat miraculous that Cobra Kai has even made it to season 4 given its unlikely origins as a little-heralded YouTube original series. But the show’s creators have done a good job putting the show together, balancing its more ridiculous elements with its more legitimate character exploration, while being gleefully willing to unleash karate madness at any given moment. And they promise a season 5 is coming and that even that won’t be end for the show. Of course, it’s fair to ask how long they can really keep things going before the fun formula they’ve hit on begins to show some wear. It seems frankly that a big All Valley Tournament showdown would be a perfect place to end the show, but obviously its creators have different ideas, and clearly Netflix is happy with the way the show has been performing and want more. Cobra Kai season 4 hits Netflix on December 31, 2021.
