Robby Keene spends part of Cobra Kai season 3 in jail; here's how long he spent in juvie. Tanner Buchanan's Robby has been a central part of Cobra Kai's storyline since season 1.  Robby is Johnny Lawrence's (William Zapka) son who followed in his father's footsteps by being a bit of a bad-boy, but he started to turn a corner thanks to Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). The perception of Robby shifted at the end of Cobra Kai season 2 when he nearly killed Miguel Diaz (Xolo Maridueña) in the school-wide brawl.

When Cobra Kai season 3 picks up, Robby is on the run from the cops. It is well known he is responsible for sending Miguel to the hospital and putting him in his coma. Robby avoided detection as long as he could, but the combined forces of Johnny and Daniel eventually allowed them to track him down. It wasn't long after Robby's location was discovered that he had to face the consequences of his actions. Daniel called the cops and hoped Robby would turn himself in. Robby was detained against his will and sentenced to serve time in jail for his actions and running from the police.

Robby's trip to jail only lasts a few episodes in the grand scheme of Cobra Kai season 3 though. The timeline of season 3's events is somewhat vague, but plenty of time passes to allow Robby to spend some time thinking about what he did — and to allow Miguel to rehabilitate from his injuries. This has created some minor confusion about how long Robby was in jail. The season 2 finale of Cobra Kai takes place in late August, as it is the first day back to school. Robby is arrested a few weeks later, which is sometime in September. The Cobra Kai season 3 finale is set on December 19 and Robby has been out for only a few days at that point. This means Robby was in juvie for about three months: from September to December.

Considering Robby fled from the cops and nearly killed a fellow student in a fight, three months in juvie isn't too bad of a punishment for him. He was expelled from West Valley High School due to the fight and said to be a fugitive of the law. Only having to spend a few months in juvie is hardly that tough of punishment for Robby. But, the world of law enforcement in Cobra Kai has proven to be quite lenient. There have been multiple public brawls, destruction of property, assault, and more caused by the dojo wars, but so far no one has served time except for Robby.

Although some might question if Robby spent enough time in jail for his crimes, the story of Cobra Kai means he couldn't stay in there too much longer. He had to be out to join Cobra Kai and partner with John Kreese, allowing him to turn his back on and hurt both Daniel and Johnny. As Cobra Kai's newest star pupil, Robby will likely play a major role in Cobra Kai season 4 and the quest to win the All-Valley Tournament.
