Although the second season of Cobra Kai ended over a year and a half ago, it's still fresh in the minds of fans. That's especially true since the series was added to Netflix in the past few months. The news that two more seasons were greenlit excited audiences and the third season is set to premiere on January 8, 2021.

Part of why everyone is so eager for these new episodes is because of how season two ended. There were plenty of things left unanswered regarding the fate of the characters and the future of the show after a spectacular finale that might be the best episode of the series so far.

How Will Aisha Robinson Be Written Off?

aisha-robinson-cobra-kai

One of the best and most likable characters since the show started has been Aisha Robinson. She gets past being bullied by joining Cobra Kai as the second recruit and is someone who stands out as being a genuinely good person. Unfortunately, she won't be around for the new season.

The news was recently confirmed by Nichole Brown, who plays Aisha. Apparently, the writers had no place in the script for her, which is disappointing. She was notably absent when John Kreese took over Cobra Kai but that won't explain why she's missing from school and things like that.

Do Johnny And Carmen Make Up?

Johnny's budding romance with Miguel's mother Carmen was a highlight during the second season especially. Their date in "Pulpo" alongside Daniel and Amanda was a delight from start to finish. Things come tumbling down poorly for the couple in the finale though.

Miguel's injury devastates both Johnny and Carmen but his mother lashes out at the former. In her upset state, she blames Johnny for it since Miguel avoided fights before they ever met. She shouts that she never wants to see him again but fans hope that's not the case.

How Is Everyone Punished For The School Fight?

There's no denying that the massive fight in "No Mercy" is incredible to watch. Cobra Kai battles Miyagi-Do all throughout the building on the first day of school, causing destruction and injuries galore. One teacher is even a victim as he gets tossed by a student.

One has to assume there will be major consequences for this. Robby will most likely face the most severe punishment (more on that later) but things like suspensions are sure to be handed out. Some parents will probably also have to pay for damages.

How Will Demetri And Hawk Change?

Demetri fights Hawk

Demetri has gone from the softest person on the show, always looking to avoid a fight, to someone who kicked Hawk through glass during the school fight. Both have changed dramatically since the show's premiere. Season three hints at more changes for them.

First, Demetri is shown tripping Hawk during a soccer game at school in the trailer. There didn't seem to be any provocation for this. On the flip side, Hawk seems to be shaken by the arrival of his former bully to the Cobra Kai dojo. Could they be going down opposite paths again?

Where Does Sam's Heart Lie?

Sam is at the focal point of the two most prominent romances among the teens. First, she falls for Miguel and the two date for most of season one. Due to some of his actions, she dumps him and then eventually starts to go out with Robby and seems happy.

After getting drunk, Sam kisses Miguel, which is what sparks the rumble in the school. When it's over, she scolds Robby for hurting Miguel and in the hospital, all she can think about is Miguel. Robby isn't even mentioned. Once she learns that Miguel is alive, one has to wonder if her mind and heart will race back to Robby or stay with him.

Is Miyagi-Do Really Done?

This one seems highly unlikely but it is important to ponder. After the events of the school brawl, Amanda wisely tells Daniel that he needs to shut down Miyagi-Do. He could blame Cobra Kai all he wanted but a childhood rivalry resulted in serious injuries to children.

While her point of view is understandable, it's hard to imagine things without Miyagi-Do. Even if the series is named after the other dojo, Miyagi-Do has become a crucial part of the plot. The trailer hints that Daniel keeps training with Sam but there's no hint of others getting involved.

What Happened To Robby?

Robby kicking Miguel over the guardrail at school and injuring him changed everything. The kid was on a positive trajectory to change his life for the better but this clearly put a damper on that. He was last seen fleeing from the scene and not mentioned again in the finale.

The trailer for season three shows that he gets arrested for what he did and he seems to be in some kind of detention center. He is also shown to get beaten up while there. Does this send Robby back down a darker path? The trailer suggests that Kreese comes to see him, which can only mean bad things.

How Does Ali Play Into Things?

Other than Mr. Miyagi, who was played by the late Pat Morita, pretty much every main character from The Karate Kid has appeared on the show. The big missing piece has been Ali Mills. She was Daniel's love interest and Johnny's ex, adding to their rivalry.

She was name-dropped a few times on Cobra Kai but is finally set to arrive. The season ended with her sending Johnny a friend request and Elisabeth Shue is set to reprise her original role in the new episodes. It'll be interesting to see what this means for Johnny and Daniel's relationship.

Will Miguel Walk Again?

The scene where Miguel breaks his back is a heartwrenching ending to an exciting series of events that takes everyone by surprise. Season two concluded with him in the hospital and there were legitimate concerns that he might not live through the injury.

Thankfully, the trailer shows that he survives. However, his path to walking again looks tough. Miguel is seen in a wheelchair and working hard to get the ability to walk again alongside Johnny. This will certainly be a different route for someone with such a bright future.

How Much Will Johnny And Daniel Work Together?

Some of the best scenes of the show so far have seen Daniel and Johnny hanging out, whether at the bar or at dinner. It displays that these guys are more similar than they think. They get along well and then something dramatic happens to make them enemies again.

Season three depicts them teaming up in the trailer. They seem to beat up some guys at what looks like a warehouse and Amanda has to remind them that they aren't cops. Fans would love to see their partnership put them against Kreese with Cobra Kai as the villains again. However, Ali's arrival may throw a wrench into their cohesiveness.
