Miguel and Robby share a hotly-contested rivalry in Cobra Kai. In The Karate Kid sequel series, Miguel and Robby are without question two of the best teenage fighters in the Valley. However, the show has yet to offer a definitive answer to the question of which one is better.

The two have already engaged in multiple brutal showdowns over the course of the series. One more could have happened in the Cobra Kai season 4 finale, but was averted by Miguel’s decision not to finish his fight with Hawk. But although the tournament didn’t conclude with an epic Miguel vs. Robby rematch, another fight between the two characters is confirmed to be on the horizon. Miguel and Robby were seen coming to blows in the Cobra Kai season 5 teaser trailer, but who will come out on top remains to be seen for the time being.

How their fights have played out shed light on how they stack up against each other. Miguel won in season 1, but that victory proves nothing, considering that Robby’s fighting ability was hampered by an injury he had sustained fighting Hawk. The season 2 finale, on the other hand, was a different story. Miguel was seriously injured by Robby after he had effectively beaten his opponent and showed him mercy. But in spite of that, Miguel was struggling against Robby when they fought in Stingray’s house. Based on what happened, there’s a good chance that Robby was the better fighter in Cobra Kai season 4. Unlike Robby Miguel simply wasn’t motivated, which caused him to underperform in several of his fights.

Who Will Win When Miguel & Robby Fight in Cobra Kai Season 5?

If Miguel doesn’t regain his fighting spirit or the drive he had in the first three seasons, Robby should beat him when they face off in season 5. That’s because the two are so evenly matched that this alone could prove to be the difference-maker when they fight again. Looking at what he’s capable of combined with the fact that he – like Robby – has learned both Cobra Kai and Miyagi-do karate, Miguel can win, but only if he makes few mistakes and makes full use of his skills and experience. As things stand, the only one that’s currently doing that is Robby, who was focused and determined in season 4.

Robby is one opponent that Miguel won’t be able to beat without properly applying himself to both his fights and his training. Unfortunately for Miguel, he may not have enough time to turn things around. So unless Robby gets emotional and costs himself the victory, the odds appear to be in his favor when they clash in Cobra Kai season 5. In the end, that could be a good thing for Miguel Diaz, particularly if it serves as a wake-up call for his character.
