Star Wars: The Clone Wars is putting Ahsoka Tano front and center, and her season 5 cliffhanger will finally be resolved. Ahsoka's exile from the Jedi Order was one of the most emotional moments of the entire series. Her story appeared concluded as she left the Temple, never to return. She didn't reemerge chronologically until Star Wars Rebels some decades later. There was plenty of time in between to explore, which season 7 of The Clone Wars will now tackle. At last, a more direct approach will be taken at covering her life after The Clone Wars season 5.

"The Wrong Jedi" was Ahsoka's final appearance in The Clone Wars to date. It ended a story arc where she was framed for a terror attack on the Jedi Temple. Her disillusionment with the Order led to her leaving that life behind. The Clone Wars was then canceled following the 2012 acquisition of Star Wars by Disney, so her journey never got a chance to resolve itself properly. When it was announced that The Clone Wars would return for one last season in 2018, fans were excited. Not only because the show was back, but because it could finally address Ahsoka's fate.

Other media has already covered much of The Clone Wars season 7's story, while there have been some hints as to what Ahsoka has been doing post-season 5. The Star Wars Ahsoka novel chronicled much of what this season will include, from the Siege of Mandalore to the fallout of Order 66. However, it quickly jumps ahead to a time better served as a Rebels prequel. By that point, she is a much different person. The Ahsoka of The Clone Wars is almost a different character than the one seen in Star Wars Rebels, but what got her to that point has not been completely explained. Season 7 will act as a stronger follow up to her time after the Order, while not entering the age of the Empire.

Ahsoka Tano faces off with Maul during the Siege of Mandalore in Clone Wars Season 7

The Clone Wars season 7 has been off to a solid start. The first four episodes encompassed the Bad Batch story arc. That has now ended, and so Ahsoka will find herself back in the fray from episode 5 onwards. Promotional material indicates she will be involved in the Siege of Mandalore, and that a confrontation with Darth Maul is also on the horizon. Aside from this, it is possible that some time will be squared away to cover her prior exploits. There is a decent period between seasons 5 and 7, so she had to have gone on some exciting adventures. More than likely the next few episodes will go over them.

Despite her difficult start, Ahsoka has become one of Star Wars' most popular characters. Her choice to leave her Jedi life behind moved some to tears, while her return has been the cause of intense anticipation. The Clone Wars' last season will be difficult to watch. With a fresh perspective on Order 66 and overlap with Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, there will be little comfort. If nothing else, at least it will provide much-needed context for the end of the clone war. Specifically for Ahsoka Tano, whose personal story gaps will finally be filled in after her uncertain end in season 5.
