Ahsoka Tano had an important message to deliver to Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 7, and her words could have changed the outcome of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. With The Clone Wars approaching its grand conclusion, the prequel trilogy is doing the same as they run concurrently to one another. This means Anakin is walking a darker path than ever before, soon falling to the dark side under Darth Sidious' tutelage. The galaxy-wide conflict is coming to an end, spreading the Jedi thin across the core systems not unlike they were shown in Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan and Ahsoka are out on the front lines, however, Anakin is on a much different and more covert assignment.

Much to his chagrin, the Jedi Council ordered Anakin to spy on Chancellor Palpatine due to growing fears of his ulterior motives. He is close to the Chancellor, and finds this task not only deceitful but as further proof that the Jedi are not who they claim to be. His disillusionment worries Obi-Wan, who consults Ahsoka for a helping hand in the matter. Kenobi speaks to Ahsoka via hologram and asks her to talk to Anakin and ease his frustrations with the Council. She is hesitant at first, even agreeing with her former master that his mission was flawed. The two then get into a brief debate over the morality of the Jedi and their decision-making process, which ends with her agreeing to speak with Anakin as soon as she can.

Ahsoka is never granted the opportunity, however, as their meeting is interrupted by Commander Rex, who urges Ahsoka to prepare for battle. Maul's forces launched a full-on assault so they require all of the firepower they can muster to apprehend him. She departs, but not before asking Obi-Wan to "Tell Anakin..." with no further elaboration, leaving viewers in the dark as to what she meant. During their talk, Obi-Wan admits that the Jedi Council is not always right in their actions. Since Ahsoka spent a lot of time with the common people, she knows better than anyone at the Jedi Temple that faith in the Order is slipping. She has little trust in them, hence why she left and was so hesitant to return in the first place. This is something that Anakin needs to hear to resist straying any further from the light side, the reassurance would make all the difference.

Ahsoka and Obi-Wan speak via hologram in The Clone Wars

Since Ahsoka can't communicate that to him directly herself, Obi-Wan is the only one who can, which would be just as resonant if not more so. His devotion to the Jedi Order is unshakeable, but hearing he doesn't always agree with it would be just as powerful for Anakin at this point in his life. Anakin lost faith in the Order, so knowing that he wasn't alone in that regard, and that it was something he could work with Obi-Wan on, might've been enough to keep him from falling.

It is common knowledge that even Obi-Wan doesn't keep Anakin from becoming the villainous Darth Vader by the end of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Anakin also won't reunite with Ahsoka until their heartbreaking duel many years later during the Star Wars Rebels. Had she been there to speak with him and confide in him her doubts about the Jedi Order, it may have been enough to alter Star Wars canon. The Clone Wars gave audiences a glimpse into what could have been, but Ahsoka will not get to have one last friendly conversation with her former master.
