The first trailer for Freeform and Marvel's Cloak & Dagger season 2 shows what is next for Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph). The live-action series made its debut last summer and pleasantly surprised audiences with what it had to offer. The series balanced the young adult approach with maturity and found great chemistry between the budding actors playing the future heroes. It took time, but the "Divine Pairing" finally learned to use their powers to help others and not just themselves, saving all of New Orleans in the process.

After the success of the first season, Freeform announced that the show would return for a second season and that fans wouldn't have to wait too long to see what comes next. Filming began in the fall of 2018 and now the promotional materials for the new season have started to surface. Freeform recently confirmed the premiere date for Cloak & Dagger season 2 and it wasn't long after that they teased the first look at the second season would arrive. Now it has.

Freeform and Marvel debuted the official first trailer for Cloak & Dagger season 2 today to show the titular heroes embracing their powers even more. The trailer highlights how they're taking the safety of New Orleans into their own hands, with one of their major focuses being sex trafficking. While they attempt to do this in the way they believe is right, Brigid O'Reilly (Emma Lahana) has the same goal - and will unleash Mayhem to get the job done.

One striking element of the trailer is the confidence that it appears to have. They clearly know what the series is and what this season is going to hold and are making that clear from the get-go. The budget even looks a bit higher, as the super power effects and overall production value of the series looks to have taken a step up. Of course, the trailer is also extremely character focused (just like the first season was), so any increase or better utilization of the budget will just be a bonus with Holt and Joseph leading the way. Even though both of their characters are of the same mind of saving these girls, the end of the trailer teases that some friction will arise - and that Tandy will learn to expand her abilities beyond just light daggers.

This trailer is sure to only increase excitement for what comes next in Cloak & Dagger, which could be a great sign for one of the most popular superhero shows in 2018. Now that this footage is confirming that Tandy and Tyrone will be working together again, fans are undoubtedly hoping they actually take on their comic hero titles and the ones the series is named after. If O'Reilly is masquerading around New Orleans as "Mayhem" then it could be just a matter of time before Cloak & Dagger's young heroes assume new identities of their own.
