Screen Rant is thrilled to present the first 10 minutes of Prime Video's hot new series Citadel, a high-octane spy thriller with a heavy dose of romance. Created by Joe and Anthony Russo (of Avengers: Endgame fame) and Hunters showrunner David Weil, the latest big-budget production from Amazon's streaming service is a globetrotting adventure with spin-offs already in the works around the world.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden lead Citadel, playing super spies Nadia Sinh and Mason Kane. Their love for the job is rivaled only by their love for each other, and they are aided in their mission by Bernard Orlick (played by the iconic Stanley Tucci). The series chronicles the organization's rise from the ashes of its previous destruction and follows the agents as they fight against rival operation Manticore, which is embodied by Lesley Manville's mysterious Dahlia Archer.

Citadel Turns Spy Drama Tropes Upside Down

Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra ready to fight in Citadel show

As evidenced by the first 10 minutes of the series, which Screen Rant exclusively presented above, Citadel begins in media res. Madden's Mason and Chopra's Sinh already know each other remarkably well and have clearly been on many a mission together, never expecting that one as simple as this might go wrong. Their crackling dynamic and comfortable banter immediately piques viewers' interest and raises questions about their past and the nature of their organization.

But Citadel is far more interested in the future, and the opening sequence serves merely as the groundwork for a new normal. The train explosion upends the lives of Citadel's heroes and makes it possible for the audience to experience not only their spy game but their love story for the first time. As the battle between the remains of Citadel and the agents of Manticore heats up, the lines between good and evil are blurred and the stakes are higher than ever.

Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts.

Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.
