The season one finale of Syfy’s Chucky ended with a lot to address, specifically regarding Tiffany’s (Jennifer Tilly) relationship with Junior (Teo Briones). The series concluded with a massive bloodbath, with basically half of the cast killed off. Junior was one of the characters killed, so he obviously won’t be returning to season 2, leaving a lot of questions to be answered. The upcoming season needs to explain what Tiffany and Junior’s relationship is, was, or if it was completely fabricated.

Junior made a complete transformation in the finale from the meek, shy 8th grader to a full-fledged killer. After Chucky (Brad Dourif) unsuccessfully tried to turn his cousin Jake into a killer, Chucky resorted to Junior as his protege, who was much more accessible because he had a motive. After his mother presumably committed suicide, Chucky’s wife Tiffany showed up at her funeral and gave Junior’s father Logan an intimate kiss, suggesting an alleged affair between the two. If this is true, this could mean that Junior is biologically Tiffany’s son; or, was it simply Chucky orchestrating the whole lie to drive Junior to kill? There are a few key points to look into this.

The alleged affair between Tiffany and Logan was only mentioned twice: once at the funeral and once when Tiffany arrived unannounced at Junior’s house to give them food. After this, it was never mentioned again, leaving a considerable plot hole regarding Junior and Tiffany. Chucky needed “an innocent” to kill for him to create his army of dolls, so this could have been a made-up affair he put into Junior’s head. On the other hand, Logan didn’t admit or deny the matter, as he was busy trashing his dead wife, calling her “weak” for committing suicide. Tiffany never mentioned it after Junior killed Logan either, so maybe the entire affair was faked for Chucky and Tiffany's advantage. Either way, season 2 needs to address the truth.

Chucky Junior Wheeler will become the doll new protege

The affair subplot goes right out the window when Junior goes to Chucky’s house after killing his father, where Tiffany is. The two don't discuss the affair; they barely exchange any words at all. Instead, Tiffany and Chucky get into a huge fight. After Tiffany kills one of the many Chucky's (as there is a whole army), Junior goes to his ex-girlfriend Lexy’s mother’s screening of Frankenstein. Here, Chucky goes on a killing spree, leaving more than half of the attendees dead, but his final mission is to convince Junior to kill Lexy. Instead, Junior kills Chucky and ultimately himself.

Junior and his entire family dead set up many questions for season 2, as Junior cannot answer them for himself. Chucky could have simply been putting the affair into Junior’s head to give him a genuine drive to kill, or it could all be accurate, which could make for the possibility of Junior being Tiffany's son. Chucky season two needs to address this central plot hole, especially with Tiffany becoming a series regular. This could be a setup for revealing that Junior was Glen, Chucky, and Tiffany's child, but that could be wishful thinking. Fans will have to wait for the upcoming season, which will be released sometime in 2022.
