Jennifer Tilly will reprise her role as Tiffany Valentine in Chucky season 2. Tilly first appeared as Tiffany Valentine in 1998's Bride of Chucky, then again in 2004's Seed of Chucky, 2013's Curse of Chucky, 2017's Cult of Chucky, and most recently in Chucky season 1. Chucky is a spinoff show of the famed Child's Play franchise, which focuses on a doll that becomes possessed and brought to life by the spirit of a serial killer. The franchise began in 1988, spawning seven feature films that follow the same characters, while an ill-received reboot was attempted in 2019.

The Chucky doll has been voiced by actor Brad Dourif throughout his many appearances (save for the reboot, which was voiced by Mark Hamill) and continues through the Chucky TV series. Tilly's Tiffany became a staple to the franchise, eventually getting her own killer doll to join Chucky on his murderous exploits. Typically, Tiffany is seen as Chucky's lover and accomplice, but in the last few films and in the Chucky series, her motivations have become quite a bit more muddled, adding a new layer of drama to the mayhem.

After a very surprising reveal in Chucky season 1, it appears that the story threads set up for Chucky season 2 will be paid off, as Tilly is set to return as Tiffany yet again. Per Deadline, the actress has signed on to appear in Chucky season 2, which will see Tiffany's story continue after the cliffhanger ending of her killer doll form hijacking a truck driven by Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) and leaving new series mainstay, Nica (Fiona Douriff), in an incapacitated state. The USA Network/Syfy series comes from Child's Play creator Don Mancini and is expected to begin shooting Chucky season 2 for a premiere in fall 2022.

Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany with Chucky Head in Season 1 Finale

Tilly was nominated for an Oscar for Woody Allen's Bullets Over Broadway in 1994 and is known for her feature work in 1994's The Getaway with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, The Wachowskis' Bound in 1996, and the Jim Carrey comedy, Liar Liar. Tilly has also lent her voice to a number of animated projects, including The Simpsons, Monsters, Inc. (as well as the Disney+ series, Monsters at Work), and Family Guy. In addition to acting, Tilly is also an accomplished poker player, having won the third World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament in 2005. With those achievements and credits under her belt, it's great to see Tilly continuing on with the Child's Play franchise after all these years.

The Child's Play franchise has had an amazing run thus far, sustaining interest for more than 30 years. The Chucky TV series is the best place for the franchise, as it allows the story to continue in a streaming series format, which is a better avenue for success at this juncture. The Child's Play reboot was a flop, which certainly hindered the chances for the original series to continue theatrically. For Tilly, it's a great place to continue to evolve her devilish character of Tiffany, who has become every bit as synonymous with the franchise as Chucky himself.
